View Full Version : 5 points in January

01-01-2014, 10:55 AM
Having been overoptimistic last month time to come back down to earth this.
15 points up for grabs, but a side running out of steam, so unless SD becomes bolder a rather miserable return likely this month.
Automatic promotion out the window by the end of the month ?

01-01-2014, 11:32 AM
And there's me thinking we would get at least 11 and possibly 13. How daft am I.

01-01-2014, 11:33 AM
Abc = a c0ck.

Edit: ooops wrong thread, never mind.

01-01-2014, 11:38 AM
11 points - back to 2nd place

We'll be playing against 5 teams and 5 referees so not a bad return...

01-01-2014, 12:34 PM
God i must be boring, have been logged in half a day, 5 games = 15 points starting with a 4-0 win today UTC

01-01-2014, 01:12 PM
This is my prediction:

Huddersfield D
Yeovil W
Sheff Wed W
Bolton L
Brighton D

8 points from 15 in January.

23 games in and we have exceeded almost everyone's pre season expectations and the Club should be congratulated for this half way position. We haven't been winning much since Millwall at the begining of November but remain difficult to beat.

Whatever happens over the next 23 games everyone should get behind the lads and stop bloody moaning!

leftit ... your new nick for abc ac0ck is ok ... but i would suggest you two have more in common so I would like to propose abc as ... a rightit.

02-01-2014, 05:12 PM
You just don't get it do you lbac.
One day you'll understand there's more to life than what you see on the surface.

02-01-2014, 05:39 PM
only thing i see abc ... is what is on the playing surface.
You know ... "we" support, "our" team ... just a shame you don't put as much energy into supporting and at the same time financially helping Burnley FC as you do in all your pointless threads ... let alone the negative views from "ablue" person.
You don't "get it" do you. We either have a billionaire owner or we "make do" with true Burnley supporters running the club.
Who, incidentally, have invested in placing Burnley at the top of the division for most of the season.

02-01-2014, 09:03 PM
You obviously aren't trailing me with your usual enthusiasm lbac, because I've been very supportive of the Board this season.

02-01-2014, 09:14 PM
My predictions made before Huddersfield game

Huddersfield 2-0 win
Southampton 1-0 loss
Yeovil 2-1 win
Sheffield W 3-0 win
Bolton 1-1 draw

Total 10 points - this will be a catalyst month for our promotion :D

02-01-2014, 10:15 PM
Quote from another of your threads abc ...

"The directors may say this but is there any evidence that they will be right?"

Very supportive that.

02-01-2014, 11:26 PM
"...but a side running out of steam..."

ABC, do you ever consider the effects of such negative comments on ( a ) the player's confidence and ( b ) match attendance?

Even if just 20 or 30 people read that and decide not to go...that's ?100's income lost, but maybe you put off 200 or 300!

Some of the young players must view this message board and become totally demoralised.

Pre-Internet, self-appointed local pundits would stand in a pub spouting their boll@x but the chance of players hearing it would be relatively slim.

03-01-2014, 09:25 AM
I don't think you understand psychology LCP.

03-01-2014, 09:28 AM
I don't happen to think there's much evidence we will break even unless there's a big injection of money. Our wage bill is still too high for our income.

03-01-2014, 09:52 AM
Sorry, Ablue
Tried to get them all on top of the board but it's so slow, this morning. :blue:

11-01-2014, 05:18 PM
There goes another one of your predictions Abc..

11-01-2014, 05:29 PM
I was just wondering where this thread was and how it was panning out.

Sheff Wed down near the bottom, but tubbing dirty leeds 6-0 really makes for an interesting game next Sat.

My target/prediction was that 9 pts or better is a great return.

11-01-2014, 05:30 PM
50 points now from 25 games.

Averaging two points a game would normally ensure automatic promotion, the problem being that this season there are three teams at it!!

The home game against Leicester is going to be massive.

11-01-2014, 05:33 PM
As I suggested previously the nick rightit becomes more and more relevant with each passing week.

11-01-2014, 06:09 PM
Technically only 2 clubs averaging 2 points or more per game that's the Clarets and Leicester. With just 2 home games left in January it will be great if we can still be in front of QPR before the match at Loftus Road. So we need good passionate home support for the rest of this magnificent season and let's see where it takes us.

11-01-2014, 06:26 PM
Nice one albue ! - again ! sometimes I just laugh at your comments . XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD

11-01-2014, 07:02 PM
Went to high the last two times Lotty, realised the low totals are what does it. Shaky at times today against a very poor Yeovil side.

11-01-2014, 07:05 PM
Ablue has been making these predictions all season and look where we are.

Keep making these predictions abc.

11-01-2014, 07:08 PM
I'll bite. What planet are you on, ablueclaret? From the sounds of it, only our profligacy in front of goal prevented it from being a cricket score.

Fair enough you have your opinions, but don't resort to bullsh!t to give them more weight.

11-01-2014, 07:39 PM
No chance of a cricket score today. Haven't seen the stats but first half other than Ings excellent shot there wasn't that much to shout about.
Shackells injury came at a very timely moment when Yeovil were threatening to get a second. Mind you most of their fans didn't believe it. Sad to see what used to be a very effective vocal support having become so moribund.

11-01-2014, 07:45 PM
You really like to sound knowledgeable , come out with words you think some won't understand and generally be controversial but basically you're so full of your own self importance that you fail to see anything other than what you want to see . Basically you are very insignificant ablueclaret but by god do you have a high opinion of yourself . Everything you post on here is full of arrogance just like your marks on today's game . :( :/

11-01-2014, 07:49 PM
Bygum Lotty that's powerful stuff.

11-01-2014, 07:57 PM
Powerful or otherwise but certainly 100% true .

11-01-2014, 08:05 PM
You do make some interesting posts sometimes abc, but I tend to agree with Lotty.

Either way, keep on doing these threads, it's working!

11-01-2014, 08:19 PM
lotty - you missed out him basically just being a complete prat.

The Bedlington Terrier
12-01-2014, 11:43 AM
The way we are playing, the grit and determination we are demonstrating and the very evident team ethos has combined to have us averaging two points per game. Frankly, I can't see one shred of evidence to suggest that this run of form won't continue. Interestingly, neither do the bookies!

11-06-2016, 09:05 AM
Bring back ABC:D

11-06-2016, 12:54 PM
They're still touring I think.

"The Look Of Love" not exactly a classic but still remembered.
