not the movie, the temparature! It's forecast to hit minus 34C today.

In Green Bay, the Packers and the San Francisco 49ers kicked off yesterday at -15C, a little colder than I sat in at Southampton this weekend

I've got my woolies on even thinking about it.

Strange how here in the UK we are having the mildest winter I can remember. Of course we have had terrible storms and relentless rain but temperature wise it has been pretty tame. I haven't had to scrape ice off my windscreen more than a dozen times. I believe its down to the jeg stream being further nort than usual. Im not ignoring the awful conditions down south that have wrecked countless folks homes through flooding etc, im just pointing out that usually frost and snow are usually dominating the news at this time of year. is it late or is it not coming at all I wonder.

-35 degrees C? Christ! That's cold enough for Lawrence Oates to go for a walk.

It's pretty damned cold over here. It was -13F/-25C when I went out to the car to get to work this AM in Nebraska.

Should warm up though in a couple of days.

I just texted an old friend who works in a coffee shop in North Carolina, imploring her to ensure her "gas" doesn't freeze in her car tonight, to which she wrote back "I didn't know gas could freeze!"

Bless her cottons

You're friends with a girl? What's that all about?

Rileys, while I enjoy the occasional exchange of grunts and back-slaps, I generally find the company of women to be a more pleasurable experience.

More than that, she was the barrista at my local coffee shop - a very important role in the scale of things

Ah well, if you'd have said that she could make a decent brew...

yep it's supposed to be -12c here in Virginia tonight. Getting the dog walked early and curling up with a curry, bourbon and a bit of TV
