Certainly not happy with the way Blackpool is being run at the moment. See link - view external link (www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/blackpool/10555520/Blackpool-striker-Michael-Chopra-risks-ire-of-manager-Paul-Ince)

I hope we don't go near him with his massive gambling problem. This is a player who when at Cardiff and on the bench was putting big bets on with his mobile during games (Horses not football)

I'm sure he once played for Newcastle United. Can anyone confirm this?

Link doesn't seem to be working, so:

'Michael Chopra faces an uncertain future at Blackpool after he took to Twitter to criticise manager Paul Ince and the club?s training methods.
Chopra has only started four games since moving to the seaside town from Ipswich in the summer and is yet to score a goal, despite making another 13 appearances as a substitute.
It is unclear whether the former Newcastle United, Cardiff City and Sunderland centre-forward had been told to come in for extra training on Tuesday by Ince as some sort of punishment, but the 30-year-old was unimpressed when he got there.
He tweeted: ?F****** joke this came into training only 6 f****** players here then find out the fitness coach taken (sic) the football session #joke.?
The tweet was quickly deleted from Chopra?s account, while attempts to contact Ince and the club for a response this morning have so far failed.
Blackpool fans are also unlikely to be impressed by Chopra?s behaviour given his poor form for the club.

On a serious note, I do wonder if Dyche could bag this player at the end of the season. Fit and well motivated, he could still do a job for us at Championship level and perhaps beyond. At the right wages and contract length of course.

I would not want him anywhere near the Turf, I think he would be a very disruptive influence. Just my opinion.

For a prolific striker he's now failed to score in his last 27 games, his last goal coming against Blackpool in a 1-0 Ipswich win last Feb.

And imagine if we signed him and Dyche failed to turn up for a training session.

Blackpool are in a mess - free-falling down the league, lacking discipline and now evidence of unrest amongst the players.

Once the manager's son has been flogged, Ince will walk - unless he's pushed.

Love to see the Lashers disintegrating and Chopra is too big a gamble - literally.

BUT WE WON'T BE IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP SO DON'T NEED MORE CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYERS

I know it would seem a very big gamble but given our excellent set up is it feasible that we could get something out of him.

There is a very good player in there somewhere but like many others at Blackpool they suddenly just dont give a toss.

One interesting thing I noticed is that it looks like he's on ~ ?5k a week at Blackpool (maximum fine is 2 weeks and he was fined ~ ?10k)

Chopra appeared in OK! magazine in the UK in October 2007 announced he had become engaged to Heather Swan, and that they were expecting their first baby. On 15 February 2008, they welcomed a 6 lbs 10oz baby boy, Sebastian Rocco Thomas Chopra.[44] In July, it was reported that the couple had split only weeks after their £250,000 wedding,[45] but they later reconciled as she vowed to "stand by him" as he entered rehab.[46]

On 28 August 2008, it was announced that he had checked into a rehabilitation clinic including some time at the Sporting Chance clinic.[47] He was re-admitted to the same clinic for three weeks in October 2011.[46] On 14 December 2011 it was announced that Ipswich Town had given Chopra £250,000 to help pay off his gambling debts.[48]

Chopra was also banned from driving for 56 days by Chelmsford magistrates in December 2011, for an offence which took place on the A12 at Colchester on 13 September. Chopra appeared at South East Suffolk Magistratesí Court later and was

So apart from the potted recent history by IWL at post 17 is he worth taking a chance on? Is he beyond the healing hands of SD!

The memory is still painful but during Stan Ternent's era and on loan from Newcastle he scored 4 goals for Watford against us at Turf Moor.

Leave well enough alone. He comes with lots of baggage,

The only baggage that he's left behind is the one that he keeps his goal-scoring boots in. :blue:

He'll come with a lot less baggage now - Blackpool have just relieved him of ?10,000

By excellent set up do you mean that we have a bookies across the road from Turf?

Burnley seem to have such an excellent team spirit and collective ethos just now - I can't help but feel that Chopra would disrupt this.

Chopra bet Tom Once that if he got 100 retweets within ten minutes then once would pay the fine and buy him a lucky donkey scratchcard at spar.

If he is available, I don't think we should pass up the chance to have a player called Rocky... - view external link (http://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/michael-chopra-talentspotter)
