The day of the Watford home game was I finally able to go on the Stadium Tour at Turf Moor. My eldest daughter had got me a voucher for this the previous Christmas, but as I live in Edinburgh it had taken months to find a suitable opportunity to weigh in my voucher for the tour!

And very good it was too; I particularly enjoyed walking around the pitch and visiting the dressing rooms, (I may even have had inside knowledge of the team that night as the shirts were already hanging up...),and the board room and the trophy room.

This was particularly good, with items including what was once thought to be the oldest season ticket in the world, a shirt worn by George Halley in the 1914 Cup Final, plus more contemporary items from the Play-off season, etc..

But I was especially taken by a limited edition Corgi model of the bus that the Burnley team travelled back to, and through, Burnley on having won the First Division Championship in 1959/1960.

So much so that I bought one, having found

Apologies for the multiple attempts. Perhaps someone can rationalise my blunderbuss (gettit!) postings!

Got one of these for my 50th birthday couple of years ago, from my family. Alas, it is still in a drawer, can't decide on a decent place to display it!

Followed that coach half way round Burnley on my bike as a 16 year old. The excitement was orgasmic. And the elation coming home from Maine Road was only rekindled after our play off win at Wembley 49 years later, although York wasn't bad in 92.

I cannot begin imagine how exciting that would have been mdd2.

I was born in 1960, (not as a result of First Division Championship winning 'celebrations' I hasten to add), but the very thought of Burnley doing some well all season and then winning the First Division Championship at Maine Road the very last game of the season, (having never previously been top), and then coming back to Burnleyin that charabanc is mind-boggling!!!

For me, of 'all' the great days/nights Reading v. in the Play-offs was definitely the most orgasmic!!
