Hi all,

anyone have a rough idea of what our average salary is? Seen a few posts in the past and just wanted a ball-park figure.

I don't think people should be forwarding their financial positions on this board

Sorry - I meant the players' salaries. I remember reading that we have a salary cap and thought it was around 10k?

That's a private matter between Burnley Football Club and each individual player.

The average for 1st teamers is probably in the middle of 1-10,000 a week.
That's a rough guess though and purely down to my own speculation.

One thing for sure is that it's definitely no-where near some of the ridiculous wages players of other Championship clubs around us are on - which I might add are often posted on this board.

Isn't speculation a wonderful thing!

Considering our season tickets, shirt sales and mstchday tickets go some way to paying these wages, I'd say it's absolutely not a private matter. No reason why we shouldn't know.

Anybody have a rough figure of our yearly salary for playing staff this season?

I'd imagine Ashley Barnes is on between 5-8k per week.

Couldnt disagree more ClaretMatt. The club have a budget for wages, as long they work to that Budget I dont see why what any individual earns is anyone elses business.

I'm not saying we have to know, but I don't think we sshould be refused the information.

I could imagine west ham and qpr not wanting to know how.much they are paying gash players, but we are well run. I wouldn't mind knowing our players wages, even if it's a summary of playing staff etc.

They do it in US sports, why not in ours?

It's a private matter between employer and employee and any third parties they wish to involve.

It is nothing to do with us other than the club showing the annual wage bill in the accounts which they do.

Given that it has already been necessary to remove one post from this thread, I am now closing it.
