Now that Rooney is here, Dm has indicated their might be one more before end of Month.

Who else would you like, Personally, I would like either a full back or another winger.

what are other peoples thoughts?

A full back.
A proper full back not a centre back that can play there.
I'd caveat that by saying I'd be happy with Hector coming back if there's a chance we can keep him permanently in the summer

Aye a right-back for me.

Left side we've nae specialists but Reynolds, Hayes, Considine, Robertson even gives us better options than we have on the right.

Nae convinced by Shaughnessy, too prone to a rick, and Tate looks much better suited to the centre.

Fit's Maurice Ross up to these days?

Most definitely a RB.

Joe is a bit off at the moment and Murray is still inexperienced. Tate's performance in that position last week should tell you all you need to know about where we need strengthening.

I agree about a RB but I suspect DM will want to replace Wilde, so more likely to be a winger;

DM also states it looks like Hector will be staying at Reading

McInnes also suggested in his interview there could be players leaving as well, so maybe a player being used as bait to get someone in.

We could really do with natural right and left backs to compete with the youngsters Murray and Robertson.

Shaughnessy to me is a decent back-up centre-half or emergency right-back. I like him but he's just a wee bit on the slow side.

I don't know why we got Tate. We have plenty of choice at centre-half if you include Joe in that bracket.

I reckon Murray should get a shot at RB, so with Robertson injured and yet to fully prove himself then I'd say a natural left back is still a priority.

Hector

we looked slow and laboured at the back versus ICT

I also thought Hayes did very well at LB in the last few games, game us more attacking guile up the left flank. Granted its not his usual place and he had a couple basic mistakes but boy can he jump for a heeder

Hector at RB and Hayes at LB with Reynolds and Cons at CH would do me

If it can only be one, I would say RB, not LB.

I think we need a natural right footer at CH alongside Conso or Reynolds, the other can play full back as they will get good support from Hayes.

I'm not advocating the above long term, just if we could sign one more in this window.

Our right side is weaker, especially playing out from the back. Robson always looking to come inside, Mcginn not like to track back much. So right FB needs to be someone who can get up and down, or look for a different pass from the punt up the touchline into space. That's not JS or AT.

Please , please , please be Christina Clark...

or even just use him as bait in a bear trap or a shark fishing expedition

I would like to see the addition of another full back in this window if possible. We probably require 1 on each side in the long term, but realistically we are unlikely to make 2 signings in the position at the moment.

Many of the players who have filled in have produced strong performances and have certainly not let anyone down. However, I do feel having natural full backs playing regularly will improve the overall balance of the side. When a Centre back plays there, the pace of our game suffers at times and allows the opposition to get numbers back behind the ball and regroup.

I noticed Kovacevic has left Ross County. Could he be an option on a deal until the end of the season?

The same Kovacevic who's been freed by both Dundee Utd and County?

That's the definition of "settling" for you

I think people underplay the importance of full backs in the modern game. I've seem it written on these pages that it's an almost "obsolete" position, that can be covered by centre halves playing there.

*******s.

Love seeing full backs bombing on and linking up with the front players. Last week was embarressing, watching Considine and Tate trying to bomb on. Not their fault, managerial decision/mistake.

Last time we had full backs was McNameee and Smith, but both had injury issues.

Regarding Clark Robertson, not sure about him, so I think, long terms anyway, we need a pair of full backs.

Failing that this window, HAS to be Reynolds and Jack for the rest of the season, at full back.

Especially at home and if we're going to play with a midfield triumvirate of Robson-Jack-Flood.

I think we'd get away with it if we'd McGinn-Pawlett-Hayes in strata 4 but as McInnes seems determined only to play 2 of them in that area we need someone else making up the attacking numbers going forward.

Wondering if we'll go three at the back the morn seeing as we moligated M/well (and with 10 men too) in the League Cup.

I've been wondering this myself, seems strange to bring in someone clearly more comfortable at CB when it's clearly two FB's we need.

Never have been a fan of Conso playing at LB, Reynolds does a good job there but he's also our best CB and that's where I like to see him, in the heart of the defence.

Murray deserves a shottie at RB, but this no FB's has been an issue we've had for years now and the only attempts that have been made to fix it have been short term injury prone crocks.

Tate at RB was terrifying. For all his quote about the standard of football in the SPFL being "a good standard but a bit slower", it was obviously far too fast for him at RB.

I think Joe should be back in there at RB and we should bring in a LB this window if we can. That would handle all our weakest areas (bar keeper), and see us through to the summer.
