View Full Version : The SPFL Premiership is a joke

Celtic now 15 points ahead of what passes for a nearest challenger, with 2 games in hand. Win those games and they will be almost as far ahead as Rangers are in League 1.

That's right folks, Celtic, that's the all conquering European super club Celtic, are making as light work of the Premiership as Rangers are of a part time league. That means they are about as far ahead as the world renowned Aberdeen FC as Rangers are ahead of Dunfermilne youth team. They are having as easy a team against the cream of Scottish professional football as Rangers are against brickies, plumbers and postmen.

The orcs are not the sharpest, however the Scottish domestic game has been a joke for a long time, pity they were liquidated in trying to keep up with their ugly sister :blue:

How come Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen and Dundee United's attendances are all up on when oldco was in the SPL?

He has a point.

Get rid of Celtic too and there will be competition. Attendances have already risen since Rangers cheated themselves to death, meaning more money for clubs, so get rid of the other one too and we'll have a league where we won't know who will win at the start of every season, sounds good to me.

if sevco are so desperate to be back in the top league why are they doing everything they can to run out of cash before it happens?

supporters of a team that went in to liquidation and are watching their team play against teams that consist of players who playing football is there second job are not in a position to patronise

I remember many seasons when, by this point, Rangers or Celtic were already shoe-ins for the title. And that was with Rangers in the league obviously.

You'd think the Scottish game was the most competitive league in Europe before Rangers imploded... It's nonsense.

Fact is genuine competition, and I mean where teams other than Celtic (or Rangers prior to implosion) have an opportunity to win the league, is where there's an element of uncertainty about the end result. The deck is so stacked against everyone else it's a wonder fans of the rest of us bother turning up at all.

..Because they are taking advantage of deliberately weak rules to cheat again. They know fine they can effect a controlled admin event, and lose the 25 points, because they will be so far ahead, that it won't matter.

Look at the original club - 10 point penalty that didn't drop them one position, and a fine they never paid. Cheats then, cheats now, cheats forever, no matter what shell company they focalise on.

The weeg mafia in the SFA let this happen, all the subtle help the hvns need, given in spoonfuls.

Fkmn CHEATS.

There aren't many leagues in Europe that are competitive and it's been like that for years.

It's not being uncompetitive that's the problem. It the fact that the runaway leaders got pumped all over the place in the Champions League.

As is pretty much the norm for a pot 4 Champions League side these days.

They had a better season in the Chumps League last year but didn't have as good a run in the league.
Celtic had roughly the same points at this point last season as Aberdeen and Motherwell have now.

"Elbows" seems to think that the leagues are the same.. makes you wonder why anyone would pay 10-15 k a week for a player(s) when part-timers can do the same job for next to phuck all.

Sevco excuses XD XD XD

Celtic have twenty or more times the resources of all the other clubs.

The chances are that without their post-midweek heavy leagues, they'll pick up three points most weeks.

Sevco, partly due to some kind of sense of entitlement, pay around 75-100 times the wages of clubs in their league, so ditto.

Although they have given us those amusing moments against Stranraer, Forfar, Annan, Stirling, Peterhead, Berwick etc

I agree with the OPa??s title choice.

Anyone who disagrees with it is either wearing blinkers, or a tim.

The Scottish Premiership is a joke, for all the reasons outlined above. The lack of competition for the top spot is embarrassing. But that isna??t the fault of the clubs fighting for second place (third when the old Rangers lived). The money men have killed our game. The money men in Glasgow who decided that trying to outspend each other was the way to win the league/cups, rather than leaving it to the guys on the pitch, successfully out-pricing the other clubs in the league, forcing them into either following their example and spending to win (how did that work out for you Hearts?), or languish with nothing except the odd blip of a cup win now and again.

There are other factors that are not helping our game at all. The lack of consistency shown by officials in every game is putting fans off. Why should they pay upwards of A?20 per game for a ticket when they kno

Why are Sevconians concerning themselves with the top flight?

I'd suggest they should be sticking to lower league matters.
