View Full Version : Does anyone think we can win the league from this position

After our first major disappointment of the season on Saturday with result and injuries with all of us looking nervously over our shoulders is anyone looking upwards i mean we are nearer to the top than third

It's still possible. Think last weeks game would have been very different with a full squad.

I'd love to win the league but I've said many times, the difference between 1st and 2nd is a trophy; the difference between 2nd and 3rd is a guaranteed place in the Premier League.

So I'll settle for 2nd - but I would love to win it.

Do I think we can win it? No.

Realistically, I think we'll struggle for goals until Ings is back. However, to put a positive spin on things I can see us picking up enough points for 2nd spot.

We have more of a chance to win the league than finish 3rd that's for sure.

We are up against it trying to overhaul so many points within a short space of time, but we have to aim for the top.

All options are possible.

I'm usually quite positive, but on this occasion I don't think that we'll win the league, but I don't think that Derby or QPR will catch us.

The result, as CT rightly points out, is that we will still reach the Premier League, we just won't receive the winners trophy!

Still, positivity of a degree!

I was only six and nine twelths the last time we won this trophy, so yes, I hope we can go on to win it.
I certainly haven't given up hope. :)

errrm, where's the Dyche mentality gone? One game at a time :-)

I like Sean's mantra. Funnily enough, I was listening to Brendan Rogers' press conference post match the Spurs game, and Rogers used the word 'mantra' which is the first time I've heard another manager say this.

Are people really taking note of our Manager and copying his ways?

In the same vein I wouldn't expect us to fall away, I don't see Leicester dropping 7 points either so no, it's just a bit too far now.

Given the realistic expectations for this season, 2nd place would still feel like we are Champions.

In the same interview Rogers talked about "only thinking about the next game, which is Man City." Then he realised it was West Ham!! Freudian slip...

Never give up hope, they've drawn 3 out of 4 and far away from being on fire. I think Dyche is going to surprise us again with our next performances, I'm confident we can pick up the points, we've been proving people wrong all season, let's do it again!

Can't see that winning it is now an option.

Always have been VERY happy with automatic promotion which I feel is a must if we are to get promoted.

No-one remembers or cares who came Ist or 2nd in going up.

Lets Blxxdy get there!

I think we had a very good chance to win the league with Vokes fit. But not now :blue: 2nd is very much still on the cards, even with just one striker( for now). So let's concentrate on getting automatic promotion. This is definitely my best season watching the clarets. I would love it to finish with automatic promotion. B)

Chance would be a fine thing, not now but promotion is ours for the taking in the next five games, one at a time though :D
