Hi counters. I said I'd give somebody a chance but it's got to midday and nobody has stepped up.

Todays tin is as specified in the subject line.
drained weight is 235g and contents are grapefruit, water and sugar.

Points as usual, 5 for the chunks and 3 for the joose. Fragmentation rule will probably kick in. Anything less than half a segment will be discarded.

As we're late posting I'll not open the tin until 7pm. Hopefully to post result at 7.15pm

Photographic evidence to follow.

I was just about to leave on my travels, culminating in the match at Oakwell, when I saw this so here is a hasty guess --
24 pieces of lovely grapefruit
167mls of juice

Can I donate any points I may win (some hopes!!) to minniemouth for taking on this responsibility for our fortunes tonight. :)

Good one Minnie!

We've got to too far an important part of the season to go without a count...

Looking to build on the positive result against Watford I'm ultra optimistic about this one! :D

12 segments and 180ml joose!

Fingers crossed for some of our injured/suspended stars to be back in the team and in amongst the goals tonight!

36 segments of allowable size in 162 mls of evil tasting liquid.

Tonight we will have an "allowed" goal for Mr Barnes, along with a clever header from a Ross Wallace corner by the ever popular Mr Duff.

Nice one Minnie.
Good job someone was around to save the day.

I'm just setting off in 10 mins.

I'll go for 27 crescent shaped wedgies
127ml juice.

Either Barnes or Arfield to score and 2:1 to the Clarets gives me at least A?70.00.

Minniemouth, you are a hero.

To step into the breach at the eleventh hour takes a special kind of courage.

And what a superbly conducted Count it has been thus far.

Keep focused, confident and committed and all will be well.

You shall not let us down.

My estimates are as follows,

Grapefruit segments 15.

Residual liquid 223ml.

Godspeed Minniemouth.

Count officially closed. tin opened. result to come.

minniemouth
08-04-2014, 06:19 PM
The result is: 17 chunks and 207 mls joose.

This scores 5 points for claretblue with 17 and 1.5 points each for Peter_Nobles_Wig and bafanabafana

I realise in the photo one of the fragments looks larger than a chunk but on closer examination it was not half a segment whilst the smaller piece was entire.

20 gestimators and 1 banned should, on a savagely reduced count be enough to see Seans Mighty Claret Warriors another 3 points nearer to our ultimate goal.

I leave the table to others to update. Cheers.

Once again I am immensely proud of our Counting squad and minniemouth in particularly for a flawless display of open attacking Counting.

This was a Count that demonstrated our intense professionalism, togetherness, skill, flair and a ruthless determination to win.

From the very start I had a great feeling of well being and minniemouth conducted the Count with relentless determination right to the end.

But there is work still to be done and we are looking for a volunteer to officiate in Saturdays Count which may just prove to be the Glory Count. Immortality beckons for that volunteer so step forward bravely to the task.

But tonight let us all raise our hats and a glass to the most excellent minniemouth.

Well done that man.

What are you like?

Until the maths stack up? Which approved school did you go to?! XD XD XD

I suppose you think we are going to lose all of our remaining games whilst Derby win all of their remaining games??

I am feeling so happy after tonight's game that I refuse to hand out any more cards til Saturday ;D

Thanks again Minnie. Perfect count, even if I did have to share my points (Only joking!)

Not as chuffed as I am P_N_W.1) tending to expect the worst is always lifting when it doesn't happen, so you can see what a season i am having 2)I did tell a work colleague yesterday morning that I fancied we would win last night but wouldn't post that on here before the game because a) I could "stiffen" the result but more importantly you might rescind some of those red and yellow cards and make me look less hard. XD XD XD XD XD.
Great result and that light is pretty bright now but we are still in the tunnel. Hope we can be in daylight on Saturday as I think I will miss the last 2 home games:blue: :blue:

Mdd2, I'm with you in being an optimistic pessimist. Expect the worst and whatever you get is better but that does not mean being negative.

As the leader has pointed out Saturday could be the glory count. So who's up for it. We've had a long, hard season but we mustn't waiver. Let's see the boys home with a massive turnout.

And, without wanting to be "smug"... Here I sit at the top of the table with just 5 games to go. I feel a little like Sean Dyche (But I can't remember his number ;D ).

When asked earlier by a fellow Madder what it felt like, I had to tell him that it was "one game at a time". That's been the mantra since the start of the season and it has served us well ;D

I can't officiate at any games other than Blackpool or Wigan (Not both). Any of those taken yet?

I see that we are without a volunteer thus far for this weekends crucial Count.

If no one is forthcoming I can conduct a very cut down Count which would probably have to end at 9.30AM on the morrow.

I urge someone with more time to step forward at this late hour.
