View Full Version : End the season as we started...unleash the dolphins

jdrobbo

Stupid, silly, utterly bonkers, but I thought they were fantastic and very original. No other clubs have them, so why not line them up again (Hillsborough style) and unleash them on the coast at Blackpool on Good Friday?

Can this be organised? I'll await a response from our resident dolphin keeper :)

No Dolphin, No Party!

Love the dolphins. Ordered five - Ai1.88ea on eBay. 53cm should be easy enough to get past those stewards. Should get a hundred or so chaps, so come on.

John - I am swimming with dolphins in Mexico on Thursday.

Good luck for us for 2014/2015.

Kids did it yesterday.

Will post photos when home.

Never mind swimming with dolphins

This first one nearly scored at Hillsborough and the second one was captured by jdrobbo much to the bemusement of MDWat

'I spotted a car on the M1 on Tuesday evening with the registration MD11 WAT - any connection??'

As did I, and I noticed his schoolboy error of pulling back into the queue on the inside lane of the motorway exit slip road as we cruised past on the outside.

I'm still having nightmares about dolphins after being smashed by one at Huddersfield...one that was about 8' long!

My son wanted to take it home!

Robb1es_dad

I need to make a decision here! Parrots are nearly twice the price and possibly only half a popular as Dolphins. But I still feel drawn to a couple fluttering over a sea of Dolphins.

Just bought 2 for myself and a friend. No tickets but will be in Blackpool with the dolphins all the same. UTC!

I bought a dolphin and threw it (once) at Yeovil. Whoever has the dolphin please bring it to one of our remaining games. :)

Grammar Question:

Can dolphins be "unleashed"?

Should they be "podded" or "de-podded"?

What's the best word to describe the "unleashing" of a dolphin? :?

My lad took the 5ft dolphins to matches this season - each time, someone tucked the dolphin under their arm and kept it.

Come on guys, take them to the away matches.

I remember them fondly at York last summer :D

Rowls
10-04-2014, 09:15 PM
Ah, York! Seems so long ago now. York played well and we weren't convincing.

Me and my Dad left wondering whether we'd struggle this season. Haha!

Bring on the dolphins!
Unleash the dolphins!
Decanter the dolphins!
Splash out the dolphins!
Sluice forth the dolphins!

and so forth...

jdrobbo
11-04-2014, 08:59 AM
I think it started when pyrotechnics were introduced at grounds and quite rightly banned. Think this gave Burnley fans their own ideas for unique entertainment and the very unique and totally random dolphins we're let loose. Long may they swim about in our away stand on match days.

lakester
11-04-2014, 09:12 AM
Keep up the good work, jd. Funny innit, maybe it's a bloke thing, but seeing grown men throwing inflatable dolphins about really makes me laugh. Don't know why. Bit like when the wife smashes a plate. There's still the child in all of us.

"Once inside the ground I was met by the Burnley Dolphins. No, we haven't set up an ice hockey team in town; we've just now got a fetish for inflatable dolphins. The jobsworth stewards at York didn't like them so at Hillsborough there had been a population explosion of them as they flew around among the Burnley fans ahead of kick off."

A population explosion it most definitely was.
