Sky reporting Norwich are in for him.

How sad.

Norwich?

A fading has-been Club going in the wrong direction, who still subscribe to the "divine right" of Premier League football with expectations far outweighing reason? Yes I think I would leave that behind at Ewood and move to Norfolk.

Gonna be alot of this -
It's the 'sillier season'.
tbf you can't knock his achievements given the service he has had.
Hundred pound a week with guest apperances on the Deliah Smith drinking show!

Can we not just buy him now and stop all this fannying around?

You know he is coming to us.

Now where have I heard that before?

Do we need him Casper?

We have three better forwards.

He won't be going to Norwich and he certainly will not be coming to us.

You can stick that sentence at the top of the board if you like.

When did he ring you BOT?

Liking the sound of this.

As for having three better forwards, we might have one but that's about it. Also Rhodes would fit into the framework/mantra/alignment etc just perfectly. Although he'd have to be happy with 20 grand a week which might be a stumbling block.

That is true but he gets to play in prem, which eveybody knows he is dying to do.

royboy.

How would lazy arse Rhodes fit in to our framework/mantra/alignment?

royboyclaret
02-06-2014, 10:15 PM
DiB, Rhodes is a natural born goalscorer, in the way of our Danny, and with a character to match.

Would fit Sean's ethos like a hand in a glove.

As for being a lazy-arse, Jimmy Greaves also had that tag.;D

Now now royboy, mentioning Greavsie and Rhodes on the same page.
Tut tut. >:)

It's probably a bit much calling Rhodes a 'lazy arse', although he's no Ings, Barnes or Vokes, but he knows where the net is better than any of them.

Is he good enough for the Premier League? - I don't think so.

Will he fit our team ethic? - Doubtful

Can we afford to get him? - No

Do I want him? - No, we don't need someone who can score goals in the Championship, we've already got them sort.

royboyclaret

"Can we afford to get him? - No"

Surely the chicken pluckers would accept 5m of our transfer kitty.

As for scoring goals in the PL, I'm certain he can do that.

'Surely the chicken pluckers would accept 5m of our transfer kitty'

They wouldn't and I'm not sure that we would put up that sort of brass anyway.

'As for scoring goals in the PL, I'm certain he can do that'

We may never know, unless he signs for Man City. ;D

Don't be so sure B_O_T, even the Rao family are getting to grips with this FFP malarkey.;D

Oh, I see what you mean now Royboy. XD

Not being funny but I'd buy him just for the craic. Imagine the (added) despair it would bring to our friends down the road...worth it just to keep him in an airtight cupboard I say! :-D

Quicknick

We couldn't afford him even if we wanted him.

A lot of Rovers fans I know don't particularly rate Rhodes. He's a cracking goal scorer, but they all say that unless he's on the end of a decent chance, there's not a lot else to his game.

There are better players out there for less money and on smaller wages, I imagine.

Great finisher, don't actually think he is that good a player though!

Can't explain why. I certainly don't feel that he would do it in the PL (though oddly, I think Austin will).

""Surely the chicken pluckers would accept 5m of our transfer kitty."
They probably would, but which team is going to match his 45 grand a week salary.
He's under contract for years, so Rovers are stuck with him unless he is happy to take a massive pay cut.

Let's ring Watford and buy a proper centre-forward.

Boliclaret

We can't afford nor should we try to. Daft pluckers are stuck with him and his wages. Hopefully he'll either fall out with the powers that be at the coup or he'll get injured.

If Rovers have another 8th place finish next year they really will go into panic mode.

Forget (if you can) who he plays for. His scoring record in the Championship is excellent and he's 24. He'll be away to the PL this summer.

I wouldn't wish an injury on him.

Is he lazy- No
Is he a natural goalscorer - Oh Yes
Anyone who thinks Rhodes is lazy is wrong in the head,He works his nuts off ,

rovers fans I know would be delighted if we signed him because they realise after we played them that he is. Very much 1 dimensional and doesn't offer what vokes, ings,Deeney, or mcormack offers and if they lost 1 of the 2 strikers it would be certainly Rhodes they would prefer to go as gestede is the player they see moving them on next year to a higher playing level.

I think Rhodes is lazy and I'm not wrong in the head.
And you can ask both of me if you need proof.
