How good will the back five of
Heaton
Trippier
Shackell
Dawson
Mee
rank against any other back Burnley fives of recent times, for me it ooooooozes class and quality.

I think even without Dawson it would have go down as our best defensive unit in quite some time. I'm struggling to think of a better one in my time watching Burnley.

I'm a tad too young to remember the 59/60 defence, but the back five in our first season back in the top league 73/74, were decent to say the least.
Stevenson
Noble
Waldron
Thompson
Newton

We won't get him. Move on. It's just a fantasy.

Came as an inside forward
Made his debut as right back
Did an odd shift as a central defender
and ended up a star turn in midfield

An absolute belter our Uwe and only AŁ 40,000.

I remember Waldron heading own goal Stretford End...had to jump around like everone else to 'blend-in' >;)

does anyone know what year that was...think we lost 3-0 and Mick Docherty making debut

Seem to remember Mick Docherty made his debut as a teenager v Stoke at Turf Moor 68-69 was on that game...so a bit confused claretblue...

But I think you mean a 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford the same season.

April 69 when we lost 2-0 at Old Trafford. I too, was in the Stretford End with a few of my mates from school in Salford.
