They beat Rawtenstall by a comfortable 80 runs. Congrats.

Worthy winners on a bitterly cold day at Rawtenstall! Rawtenstall just couldn't build partnerships with Pelser mainly due to some good bowling. Not sure of young lads who got man of match but he bowled well with some real pace!

Cole Hayman was the young lad, rapid for 18 years old. Plays with lancs 2's I think. Deserved win, looks as though the league form is improving as well. Hopefully lowerhouse win the league to cap off a great year for cricket in the town again.

Shame it was such a poor day weather wise.

"on a bitterly cold day at Rawtenstall!"

I bet it was bitterly cold watching cricket - I was frozen up at the Arbories watching football.

Agree with SethHowarthsHair - let's hope for a league and cup double in town now. I think it would take something of a massive upset for it not to happen.

Im not counting my chickens yet CT. Lowerhouse still have title rivals Ramsbottom to play home and away yet with the away game the last game of the season!
The House have over a games worth points advantage though so whilst favourites its not as in the bag as you may think.

Haven't rammy lost their Pro now? Watched lowerhouse a lot this year and they look very strong especially with the ball, hawke and walker in particular.

I suppose losing the pro could be an advantage for Rammy in that they can splash the cash on a big.

Unless they have blown the budget on Fielding of course ;-)

Both teams will lose their pro before they play each other. House are a good all round outfit though I would say (being biased) and can bat all the way down. No idea how rammy will cope without theirs.

Lowehouse pro is available for the first game between the two.

Both teams have tough run ins.

I doubt it is true but heard a rumour a certain Mr Flintoff could be sub pro for Rammy!

16-08-2014, 09:54 PM
As long as Rammy have only lost one pro, they could still be a threat.

Lowerhouse do indeed have a good few players, the trouble for them is when these players realise they can earn a few quid elsewhere.
Do Lowerhouse 'pay up' to keep them or do they move on?
