How do you know we haven't tried or aren't trying too?

Loans aren't what they once were. There are little players who could come on loan to us and do a job in our price range. Also, the step between youth and first team football is much bigger than it use to be.

The capable ones will already demand too high wages and the clubs will demand a fee upfront, regardless of player wages. Contracts will most likely come with many clauses we may not be able to reach...obligatory appearances etc. There's also next to no chance we will be able sign someone who we loan for a year if they perform well at this level. The prices are massively inflated due to the money in the game. We see already players in the championship being bought for more money than we can spend.

As is the response to every question on the subject of transfers...

Ask us again at 11pm on Monday 1st September.

Maybe, until we have bought any players, we are not sure which loan players to go for.
