If you dont live in Burnley, you wont know about the roadworks on westgate, trafalgar street and around gannow top areas.
Give yourself a bit of time to get into town tonight, its not bad getting off the M65, but burnham gate and trafalgar street has roadworks.
Coming out of burnley after the match be prepared for delays on these routes.
The roadworks should last until mid- sepember, hopefully improving matters as its been pretty bad of late.

and, not affecting tonight's game, but what will affect traffic approaching/coming from the Turf Moor area on 30th August is a road closure on Trafalgar Street from the junction at the Mitre to the traffic lights at the McDonalds drive through: - view external link (www.lancashire.gov.uk/corporate/web/viewdoc.asp?id=115537)

And don't forget the lane closures from junction 10 to 12 on the M65, which also result in a massive increase in traffic on the parallel main road from Brierfield to Burnley.
Getting in and out of Burnley has been a nightmare recently, so it really will be slow tonight.

and if you are coming from the m66, there will be longer than normal queues if you come off the m65 at j9 as the roadworks at the rosegrove lights are still there despite nothing happening for days. Allow plenty of time if you can. There are also long term roadworks in Rawtenstall centre.

Definitely would avoid Junction 9 - the temporary traffic lights are a nightmare and are causing long delays at peak times.

Everyone in a town centre or culvert pub for 5pm solves all these issues.
Plus you'll be too ****ed to drive home so any similar problems post match are eradicated
All night party afterwards

I would say a massive potential for traffic problems. A simple journey from the town centre to my parents home in Lowerhouse on a relatively normal a Friday afternoon lead to being sat in gridlocked traffic as the whole of the major routes to the west of the town centre seemed to have road works on them

My office is across from Sycamore farm and if anyone is thinking of coming off at the Halifax exit be aware there are temp lights at the Rosegrove lights and its been sticky getting through for a couple of weeks ...

Sean Dyche has had three months to sort this out. Not good enough, nowhere near good enough.

Junction 9 is where any Chelsea coaches will be taken off though you suspect most will come by train.

We are setting off from Lancaster by car at 5-15 Will that be early enough? Would welcome any advice about which way to enter Burnley, we usually park at Thompson car park and walk to Coach & Horses.

Further to my previous post in this thread regarding Trafalgar Street, I saw a sign today advising that the closure now starts on 31st August, so won't affect traffic for the United game.
