Attacking midfielder with a sweet left peg. Sound like anyone rumoured to be leaving?

He's obviously a good player but it begs two questions for me.

1) What's with all the midfielders?
2) Are we to Ipswich what Bury are to us?

TMiller

should be a good player but we don't need another midfielder. especially a central/left sided one

Surely Tidser and Milsom will be off now?

Green is out for a few weeks - needed cover immediately - also covering situation should a big offer arrive for Pringle and yes - Tidser will be out on loan when Green gets back.
Does 3 jobs this signing - SE knows what he is doing.
p.s. Hull have Ince for left side of midfield and are chasing Van Der Vart - Pringle rumour may well be misplaced.

We have enough in centre midfield for cover, if he's in then Pringle is out

Let's not forget we've also lost a winger in Agard, not just a striker.

Welcome on board Anthony Wordsworth.
If he's to be used on the left side of midfield then it suggests that maybe Pringle is on his way out of the club.
Wordsworth is a dead ball specialist and will score goals for us.
If he gets a start at Millwall I will be having a small wager on him to score.

Assuming Smallwood is the holding player, Taylor's to keep the sort of free-ish role he had on Tuesday, there's room for all three of Pringle, Frecklington and Wordsworth, with Green out.

I guess it might be about having a player who's already adapted to this league, because I think it's fair to say that neither Frecklington or Pringle have managed to make the impact they're capable of making yet, nor has Swift. I'd hazard a guess that we haven't seen Newton yet because he's an unknown quantity and half of the midfield is having enough on its plate to impose itself on a game to carry him if he needs it as well (we've not had a game where we've been able to "blood" him - we've either been holding on or chasing).

Evans' policy makes a decent amount of sense. Get as many people into the squad who know what this league's about and can contribute immediately as you can, to give space to the players from last year to grow into it and the new arrivals to bed in. So far, of last year's forwa

Still got problem on right hand side. That didn't work other night playing Pringle there. Don't know who you can play there. Especially away from home Broadfoot will need some cover.

I'm getting a little bit disulliosoned by all these midfield signings now. All managers state that they only sign players that are better than what they already have. If that's the case why didn't we sign Wordsworth before Newton his stats show that he was only a fringe player for Ipswich last year so probably was available. Cover for Green maybe but we wasn't exactly light in that area was we especially after signing Smallwood. We are desperate for a goal scorer and a pacey Centre Back even though Arnie and Morgs have started well the back up players are very similar pace wise. I think our goalscoring answer is sat on the bench in the shape of Derbyshire.

I don't think anyone including SE knows our best 11 at present. Evans must be spending most of his time in the office meeting and greeting at present or watching Ipswich reserves leaving little time to be on the training ground.

The new signings morale who aren't featuring must be low when they see players get injured or leave the

Evans says Wordsworth gives us a better balance but I guess he's looking a little further ahead as at the moment we seem unbalanced, strong on the left and very weak on the right, especially taking into account Agard's workrate down that flank. I'd anticipate quite a few more changes, in and out, in the next ten days or so with the team being moulded into a much more settled, cohesive unit after the international break, when hopefully Green and Richardson will both be fully fit. I feel a little optimism coming on!

Millertop - reactionary shallow thinker - only interested in sensationalism.
Leedsmiller - balanced in depth thinker with a slight skew to being positive.
I like Leedsmiller.

I posted on here Green & Richardson at 31 sorry they're to old. Green tues before he got injured looked to be overshadowed by Smallwood. Smallwood is only player we've signed who his a 1st team player.

Make of this what you will, taken from Ipswich board:

"He has never shown anything. At homes games he gets probably the biggest applause out of any of our players when hes about to come on. Im not sure if its meant to be ironic or not but I just sit there swearing whilst everyone else is chanting his. Is it a sign of how far we have fallen or do people general like him? I dont know about others but I find it a worry that hes even a pro."

Why pick that one to quote why not...

'Am absolutely gutted that Mick has let Wordsworth go out on loan, for me he is the best technical player we actually have in the team, and if his replacement is Collison then I just don't get it...'

Disagree I think we did need another midfielder, from what I've seen we have too many of the same type of midfielder and with Frecks not looking great ATM although I think he'll be ok. Would like to see Swift play in the center, he was poor against Watford, but we've seen what he can do. He's not quite ready I feel, think midway through the season the lads going to win us some games.

Would like to see something of Newton, some will be out on loan soon without doubt.

Don't get why we need another defender, feel we have enough there. I too don't get why Broadfoot playing at FB, however he's been excellent, looks a great player, just not a FB. I'll say again Brindley was excellent in the playoffs, I feel he deserves a chance. I would replace Morgan with Broadfoot. Would be harsh on Morgan, he's been great so far, but believe Broadfoot is better.

Looking forward to seeing what Brandy has to offer also.

Could we be the only team in the Championship that plays 2 left footed midfielders?

Could this be the master plan?

I think part of the thinking is to give BP something to think about. He is the only player who, up to this point, has had a divine right to play; not only his performances but because some people love him.

However, he is under pressure to evolve after being found a little weak in certain areas at this level.

Wordsworth is going to be his nemesis. He's, big, athletic, technical and hairy with a tattoo. May the force be with you BP.
