Solve this and you win 23 red Smarties.
An ongoing pc problem I live with and have given up trying to solve.
Win 7 , Dell workstation.
Problem
It is random, when typing either on-line or off.
Now and again the keyboard stops working and as I type I get the Ding sound.
When I left click the mouse all is back to normal until the next event.
I have done a system restore from well before this peculiar problem, also changed both keyboard and mouse.
The problem remains.

If you'd given up trying to solve it you wouldn't be asking

Tried different USB sockets?

Do you ever get a notificaton 'USB device not recognised' or do you notice the little green arrow that appears in the taskbar (to show a plugged n USB device, does it ever quickly disappear then reappear)

Go to Dell website and downloads and support for your machine. Download & install latest 'Chipset' drivers
