We get something on this deal right?
Hope its done early doors, might see a player over the line for us.

Does anyone know if we would be due a sell on fee.

How would they value Townsend in the deal?

I love Jay Rod but think this sounds like a very good deal for Southampton if true. Townsend was top class for a spell last season.

Yes, think he'll be a spurs player by tomorrow. Good luck jay

If he goes for 14 million plus Andros Townsend and we have a ten percent sell-on clause then we get 1.4 million and Andros Townsend's head.

Sell on clauses are normally on profit not on the full fee.

31-08-2014, 09:55 PM
Just how much profit do you think there is in Townsend's head? :?

Does anyone know if he has gold teeth?

31-08-2014, 09:55 PM
It will cost us money because he's still a few games short of us getting some more appearance money but I think we'd benefit from a sell on.

Southampton did block his appearance on Goals on Sunday this morning.

If Spurs come up with the same convoluted swap plus cash deal they did for Michel Vorm we'll get sweet FA. Just like Vorms former Dutch club.

I was told on Saturday by somebody that would know that Jay to Spurs was a done deal but likely to be announced in January.

14 million plus Townsend.

So 14 million then, basically.

"If Spurs come up with the same convoluted swap plus cash deal they did for Michel Vorm we'll get sweet FA. Just like Vorms former Dutch club."

A bit like we did with Man U when we sold Mears & Eagles to Bolton and ensured that Mears was valued considerably higher than Eagles.

But if he went for 14 million we'd only get 10% of 7 million which is about 700,000. Having said that, it would have been a welcome windfall if we'd still been in the Championship.

It's on twitter Southampton are about to sign Townsend for 15m without Jay Rod.

They must take his value into consideration so I would expect 1.7m if the whole deal went through.

Funny how Townsend is in the England squad and Jay is valued so much higher.
