View Full Version : Transfer Deadline Day

Donald_Valley

Could this be a big day for RUFC? Couple of rumours doing the rounds in McKail-Smith and Maynard being potential targets. Or will the day pass without incident?

My money is on no-one coming in if I'm honest. We will wait for the loan opportunities.

what we need now is quality so I would imagine its loans rather than transfers

Have to agree Evans likes the loan system and used it well last season so i see someone on loan rather than splashing the cash.

I think we need 2 players, a finisher and someone with blistering pace that can play on the right hand side. If Richardson not going to be fit soon, a right-back on loan.

There is one thing to consider when it comes to loan deals.

A Premiership side will probably want more of a wage contribution this season from Rotherham than they did last season in League one.

I reckon that the % of income may restrict us.

Tidser & Brindley probably to go. Milson when he's fit. How long a contract did Brandy get? what I saw of him sat' he can go. Question if you've got a player on loan can you send him back. Didn't reckon anything to Wordsworth sat'. Derbyshire as well not for us.

I watch quite a bit of MLS and Premiership and there's no comparison. However, measuring it against 4 of our games I managed to catch over streaming recently (Preston H&A, Orient, Wolves) plus the Championship playoff last year between Derby/QPR I'd say MLS is at or slightly above that level.

Nothing wrong with the loan market as long as its the right loanee.Better than shelling out 1 million plus for a flop.

Agree about the disappointment bit.

If he's any good most MLS teams won't let their players go now as the season is coming down to the playoffs. Spurs just signed Seattle's Deandre Yedlin but won't get him for

correct casper nowt wrong with loan signings. stevie has arguably a better record with them than permo signings. Think of Dicko, Tavernier, Smallwood last year. Without them we wouldnt have got up. If we can sign another Dicko till Xmas we should have enough points in the bag to stay up even if he fecks off at Xmas.

Steve may have been working on things for weeks and managers just take their time on letting players go or think lets just leave it a week or two and see how things go.
Today is the day where they have to get everything done and either make a deal or not. Nothing can be put off any more and that is why everything gets done today.

Everything in life steps up when the deadline looms nearer.

Becchio could be a fantastic signing if he can produce anything close to his form at Leeds. He seemed to have lost his way at Norwich,(in the Premiership) but he is fairly prolific at Championship level (190 apps, 75 goals).Clarke Harris is very highly rated and it looks like the Millers have beaten off competition (Wolves?) to get him. Really looking forward to seeing both of these players in a Millers shirt. Smart bit's of business by Messrs Stewart, Douglas and Evans. One question though? Where does this leave Bowery and Derbyshire?
