I just thought he looks a bit funny in some of the pictures I've found.

Not very nice of me I'm sure.

On those photos he just looks like a very decent footballer in the Premier League to me.

I don't get your post, have you got lots of friends?

Not many no.

I think they think I'm strange.

I think they are probably right.

Do you agree with us?

Is it a new drinking game where every time someone expresses reservations about our transfer policy this season and someone mentions Arfield as a response, you have to have a drink ?

Just asking so I can warn the Priory to open a branch up here tout suite if it is...

Disclaimer : This is a joke. Not to be taken seriously. If you do take it seriously you clearly have no sense of humour, look weird and smell of wee.

If you do a google image search of scott arfield it might explain why I did what I did, maybe an error of judgment by a tired person about to go to bed.

a lot of the photos of Scott he seems to be pulling faces.

The photo where he is laughing is from when he played for Falkirk.

Why the hell are we bringing in a Huddersfield reject when we need quality? He's no better than Brian Stock and with Chris McCann leaving we are right up the creek without a paddle. We should have gone for Norwood instead!

He's a League 1 tatie pie player and if this is the best we can do then we might as well start setting our sat navs for League 1 grounds.

The year now is 2014...

The best free transfer ever along with Jones. Why hasn't that short arse Strachan picked him for the Scotland squad? Scott Arfield is a Premier League player, make no mistake. We love Scotty Arfield.

It's a funny old game.

He epitomises all that is good about the Sean Dyche approach to football and football in general.

He is that kid we all used to be, when we played until we could not see the ball and when parents went on the prowl to get us indoors, so late was it.

Scott Arfield represents us.

Thank you Scotty.

The really exciting game to play when you play until you can't see the ball is cricket, and not with a tennis ball.

That really gets the adrenaline going.

If I died today I'd probably get about 250 people at my funeral or as many people as the crematorium would fill.

(It costs quite a lot to get that many people to mourn you, I can tell you - but let's leave it undisclosed for now)

I welcome friendship wherever I can find it.

I tried playing the Scott Arfield game when we got back of holiday.

I asked the mrs what's for tea, she said "All we've got left in the fridge is a jar of pickled onions that's out of date since 2013 a dried up 'crust' of gouda and a half of a very sorry looking lemon. You can't make **** with that".

To which I replied "You know Huddersfield fans thought Scott Arfield..."

She put me in my place though with a quick "Yes, but you're not Sean Dyche are you smartarse". That was enough to make me pull faces.

This one for me speaks volumes. Possibly the lowest point of his career.
He was about to sign for Southend until we took him on trial.

Made up for him

Arfield's journey over the past few seasons would be a bit unbelievable even for a football monthly.

Shows you what hard work, dedication and enthusiasm can do for you.

We can add Michael Duff to that and probably now George Boyd, both of whom have come up through the leagues.

I think that's a bit harsh IanMcL. Scotty Arfield doesn't just provide hard work, dedication and enthusiasm. Above all he is a talented footballer.

I find it incredible that he's been overlooked for Scotland when you consider that they've called Kevin McDonald into the latest squad.

Not meant to be harsh Di B - they are all talented footballers at that level. Duff has a superb ability to ignore the dazzle and put his toe in to remove the ball from that 'super skilled' world giant and Boyd has an excellent couple of skilful feet.

Arfield is not only talented, he also demonstrates his abilities regularly.
