View Full Version : 212ml Trend Kukuruz (Sweetcorn) in water.

03-10-2014, 04:19 PM

'Tis time once again to call upon all estimators to lend their support to Sean and his 'group'.
Although this commodity has no doubt been used on many occasion to exhort the goodwill of the ethereal powers I think my twist will prove a tricky test to match the tricky fixture tomorrow.
I hope this meets with approval, as yet again I have 'nil points' this season so have nothing to lose by not estimating.

Further Relevant (?) Information

Net weight 184g
Drained weight 115g

Purchased in a little Bosnian market yesterday, clearly marketed for the region but surprisingly, on reading the small print, a product of China.

The estimating time will begin promptly at 6 p.m. UK time, thus allowing the full requisite 18 hours before closure at 12 o'clock tomorrow.

03-10-2014, 04:34 PM
African estimate is 155 bits of mielie meal and 83 mls of joooooooooose. This should of course be added to the 2-1 victory for the away team tomorrow.

03-10-2014, 04:49 PM
Sorry, bafa, official start time is at 6p.m. GMT.
Please post again to keep within the stated period. Trying to make this as professional as possible despite being a novice. :)

148 pieces

93 ml juice

thanks for doing the count! :star:

Estimating period now open.

Just noticed my Gumby username has gone once again !!! This is my substitute identity I attempted to use when the board went down last season. Another good omen as Gumby is not renowned for his TFC talents.

03-10-2014, 05:40 PM
Good evening all from the sea kissed shores of South Devon. My estimate is 201 pieces of sweetcorn and 69ml of juice. It is about time fortune smiled on us and produced a win. UTC

03-10-2014, 06:03 PM
133 Kukuruz and 124 mls of sticky corn liquor.

That completes the voting from the Hillbilly jury.

03-10-2014, 06:27 PM
176 pieces

100 ml juice

That's the vote from the Accy Clarets jury!

03-10-2014, 06:51 PM
Thanks for doing the count Bomber Gumby.

Ah!! to be sure there be a lot of counting to be done so I'll stab in the dark wit 297 of the cobless corn and 160mls joooose.

3 pts for Seans mighty warriors. Marvellous Marvin to bag the winner. UTC

PS as the tin specifies 212 ml. I'm praying for some corn absorbtion.

03-10-2014, 06:51 PM
gordonharris/gumby...does that mean you can 'like' yourself?

03-10-2014, 07:25 PM
As a Yorkshireman that goes without saying, claretblue :)

03-10-2014, 07:34 PM
A very professional and well presented opening by Gumby.

Keep focused and positive and all shall be well.

My estimates are as follows.

Corn 240

Residual liquid 90ml.

Godspeed Gumby.

03-10-2014, 07:46 PM
147 bits 102 ml of joooooose UTC BFC

03-10-2014, 08:49 PM
No duplicates so far. Keep those estimates coming folks.

03-10-2014, 10:01 PM
My banned estimate is most definitely:

278 corn pieces
45ml juice.

Lets put some corn on our cob with a display worthy.

03-10-2014, 10:58 PM
I'm going on the high side again.

317 little yellow kernels in 63 mls of juice.

This week Mr Barnes is going to hit the correct side of the net.

On this occasion I don't mind dropping down the league table as long as it's balanced by the Clarets advancing in the other direction.

04-10-2014, 12:17 AM
96 pieces of corn
57ml juice

04-10-2014, 06:43 AM
398 bits with 59mls of slop. No inside info this week, so it's a real stab in the dark this one.

3 points for the Clarets please :)

04-10-2014, 07:05 AM
Good morning fellow counters from an overcast Gibraltar. Despite searching the seas these last 2 weeks I have not espied Redbeard.
I say 50ml of corn juices and 325 pieces of the sweeties.
May the ethereals look down on us with favour from 3-5pm BST today.

04-10-2014, 07:24 AM
155 bits of mielie and 83 mls of jooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooose is the latest (and timeous) guestimate from the sunny but not too warm shores of the Southern African continent.
Still think 2-1 to the away team!!

04-10-2014, 07:50 AM
Morning all! Nice number of estimates building up here - let's hope it brings good fortune to our boys.
My estimate is 304 pieces of horrid sweet corn and a mere 54 ml of juice.

Thanks for the count :star:

04-10-2014, 08:08 AM
101 yellow bits of sunshine
71 ml jooose

04-10-2014, 08:12 AM

Having scored nil points last season whilst the mighty Clarets swept all before them, I shall revert to last season's tactic of wild guestimates in the hope of reviving Burnley's fortunes.

So, there are most definitely not,

537 Jolly Green Sweeties,

333mls of Jooooooosay.

3 points for sure today.

 XD

04-10-2014, 09:03 AM
245 sweetcorn in 89 water please.

04-10-2014, 10:03 AM
Thanks to all you loyal estimators who have rallied to the call.
The final hour approaches for those who are still performing calculations. Estimates to be in by 12, the maximum 18 hours having been reached then.

Come on Caernarfon - get your estimate in while you're having a break from officiating.

04-10-2014, 10:32 AM
Good to see someone doing it properly.

I take all the blame for the 4-0 reversal.

Will give my estimate in a minute.

Was trying not to give duplicate answer.

355 pieces of sweat corn XD

and 85 ml of joose.

04-10-2014, 10:42 AM
Am on holiday and was worried no one would step into the breach.

Well done - but it shows me up as an enthusiastic amateur - not necessarily a bad thing, and for being lax about the 18 hour window.

04-10-2014, 11:02 AM
Estimating time now closed.

04-10-2014, 11:10 AM
Thanks for the estimate, Caernarfon. The more support the more weight is added to our appeal to the ethereal powers I am sure.
As for me officiating 'properly' - don't be too sure. The ancient original texts decreeing the manner of all things commodity counting may well have sunk without trace along with Red.

Anyway, no doubt your efforts last week prevented a far greater calamity.

I too am on holiday, hence the Bosnian/Hercogevenian source of theproduct. I will now embarrass Mrs Gumby by counting out the pieces on our table by the pool. The hotel kitchen staff will kindly ensure accuracy of juice measurement.

04-10-2014, 11:40 AM
So here are the results of the count. Slightly slow whilst explaining to a German couple what was happening.

231 chunky pieces of corn.
An easy count as it was a good quality product which made employing the fragmentation rule quite straightforward.

93 ml of juice.

Well done 1959_60 - only 9 off. A full 5 points to you.

And a brilliant, spot on estimate by claretblue earns the juice 3 point award.

I shall now consume the corn with a glass of local dry white wine, whilst looking forward to the afternoon.

04-10-2014, 11:43 AM

A brilliant and timely Count by Gumby.

The points are surely in the bag now, just the margin of victory means to be ascertained.

And well done to our relentless group of estimators who reacted superbly to Gumbys magnificent promptings.

But let us all raise our hats and a glass to the excellent Gumby.

Well done that man.

04-10-2014, 04:22 PM
Thanks, kind sir 59_60.
Thanks Caernarfon, too for updating the leader board.

A great point for us today at a tricky place to go. Just hope Tripps' injury isn't as bad as first impressions intimate. I am sure , with a fully fit squad and a fully functioning TFC group our season will kickoff. Bring on the bubble blowers.
