Called it dead on with playing Ward in centre midfield, yet got dogs abuse for it.

Next Burnley manager?

ClaretRuss put a better case forward and we are still yet to know if Ward has played in midfield before, like Spice said which was his major selling point.

He didn't get 'dogs abuse' at all anyway.

#InSeanDycheWeTrust is more appropriate.

People were going crazy at the suggestion. Saying we should play Hewitt or even Trips there.

Just admit it lads, Spice called it bob on, and you lot were wrong, no shame in that.

Spice gets a lot of abuse for acting as if he knows a lot about football, and not a lot of credit for knowing a lot about football. He was spot on about Ward really, Dyche agreed and it played out on the pitch.

'He was spot on about Ward really'

So Ward has played in centre midfield before then Dave?

(Which is what most were disagreeing or wondering about)

So did Sean Dyche read claretspice's suggestion on ClaretsMad and then put spice's plan into action?

DiBranchio

'Dyche agreed and it played out on the pitch.'

I've heard it all now.

Claretspice had also given some advice on here for Ross Wallace on how best to take a free kick and look how that turned out

**** off! I put Ward in midfield, too, God damn it! Albeit next to Reid, but that's a different story altogether!

"So did Sean Dyche read claretspice's suggestion on ClaretsMad and then put spice's plan into action?"

No, that's a silly thing to say. Spice anticipated what Dyche would do, simple as that.

Ward had a really good game.

Well I said that Arfield had to be in the centre of midfield, and I don't have a celebratory tonguing thread.

I feel proper inadequate.

daveisaclaret

Arfield did a lot better than he ever has for us in central midfield BOT, and I had disagreed with your posts. Fair play for that

Just give Spice the credit he deserves, admit you lot were wrong, and move on lads.

I feel a whole lot better now Dave.

Now has Ward ever played in centre midfield before like Spice suggested, which is the whole point of this thread?

DiBranchio

Has anyone ever seen spice and Sean Dyche in the same room at the same time?

Bin_Ont_Turf

If Spice can prove that Ward has played in centre midfield before then we'll all hail him.

If he doesn't then this thread is a sham and should be renamed Well Done ClaretRuss who called it right.

I said we should go 4-3-3 with all the forwards on, which we did for the last 20 minutes or so, so Spunkybackpack can kiss my behind but he can't empty his backpack on my behind (the dirty blighter).

ColdPieWarmBeer

To be fair, BOT was banging the drum for playing Arfield in the middle, so it's only fair that we suck him off, too.

'Arfield isn't a central midfielder'

Spice the great oracle.

You can stay away from my little bishop ColdPie. :D

Frequent reader on here but hardly post. You start to realise who is worth reading and who isn't.

Claretspice is more often than not worth reading. The majority aren't.

DiBranchio

Spice may be worth reading if you have 30 minutes to spare for each post.
Why use a hundred words when ten thousand will cover the subject just the same.

Just my opinion. Don't find paragraphs that difficult to be honest.

Been away all weekend so only just seen this - I guess 1 out of 3 on Saturday wasn't bad! I can't claim any particular knowledge re: Ward - I just happened to see something online referring to him having played in centre mid for Wolves when I was look up some info on him when he signed, and as I said last week that tallied with something Dyche said when he signed. Was a bit surprised that so many people were adamant he hadn't ever played there, though.

I did though suggest pairing him in the centre of midfield with Reid, and (as has been pointed out above) suggest that Arfield wasn't suited to playing as one of the two at the heart of midfield, a theory comprehensively dismantled on Saturday.

What I think the last 2 weeks have shown above all else that with the players we have and the set-up the players are used to, its hugely importance that we have players in the centre of midfield who offer real energy, legs and aggression. We went away from that at WBA and it didn't work at all.

Congrats Spice, you've somehow managed to find a way to annoy Muchacho and his many usernames.
