He talks well and I like what he's said.

With his track record he certainly knows what he's talking about.

Will we see a bit more openness with the fans and a little more involvement?

Comes across as a decent bloke.

Does it not seem a bit weird to anyone that an interview with a new COO whose strongest areas of expertise appear to be, at least from the reports of a large majority of Bradford fans, communication with fans, is available ONLY through a premium rate subscription service?

Give him chance, he's hardly warmed his seat yet. :)

Not a dig at him, DiB, not at all. Clarets Player will be pretty damn low on his list of priorities, but it just seems funny, that's all. Perhaps ironic might have been a better word than weird.

I find it funny that a 'negative angle' has already been concocted.

I suppose it's par for the course on here at the moment.

So is analysis and critique of the polarity of each and every single thread on here, to be fair. Thanks for maintaining the standards set by lotty.

Chill, BOT. I'm actually really pleased we've brought him in. He seems like a top bloke and he's obviously done a hell of a lot for Bradford. He knows his onions.

If you really think that then surely that would have been a better way to start your first post on this thread, and then follow it up (if you must) with a 'but'...

On Clarets Mad, someone criticises you if you don't throw a half-arsed platitude in before making your point. Isn't that ace?

I agree about claretsplayer, a lot of other clubs show interviews and highlights for free. Match commentary should be the only subscription content.

CPWB made a fair point. It's all gone a bit weird since then.

Absolute rubbish morningbob, I want a lot more for my money than that!

Why should they give all the content away for free? At the moment we get quite a lot of stuff like interviews every week with at least one of the players and the manager before and after the game. Like news about what's going on behind the scenes.

It's that added value that makes it worth paying for. If it was just the highlights I might as well just watch match of the day.

Incidentally for the Arsenal game they had highlights from the Premier League which where much more balanced that MOTD and they also had Burnley's highlights against Arsenal with the usual Clarets Player commentary.

looks like we've brought in fred elliott, presumably to keep ashley barnes company.

there should be 2 options, one with commentary and one without. season ticket holders should get the without one free.

The club normally have an article on the website supporting the exclusive video content published a day after... Like they have on the link. - view external link (http://www.burnleyfootballclub.com/news/article/baldwin-insists-fans-can-shape-future-061114-2065864.aspx)

Watched the interview on Clarets Player and he sounds a good down to earth guy who will help ensure that BFC is a sustainable business and will not be like Bolton Blackpool Wolves Sheff U etc. He turned around Bradford and seems sensible.

Good Luck David

Burnley have employed a few people who've said all the right things to get people on-side.

I'll wait and see what he actually does.

Another job for the boys by the looks of it.

I don't suppose you'd care to explain would you ?

Bradford fans have nothing but praise for him and as far as I'm aware he has no connection at all with BFC so how is it a job for the boys ?

ClaretsPlayer is 70p a week, for full match video, match commentaries and at least 4 interviews.

That's not 70p a minute CPWB, that is stunning value for Clarets that don't live local, IMHO

I think the club have understood that Lee Hoos made an almighty cock-up with the whole retainer nonsense and the pricing policy for this season. Saturday's attendance figure is testimony to that.

The board should be applauded for bringing in someone who's been very successful in managing exactly that kind of interaction with the fans at Bradford which is surely a very similar market to our own.

Baldwin has been on the club's radar for years so it's not just a response to this summer's mistakes, but it was obvious there was a need for another brain in there.

Too much for one man now we're in the Prem . The board are trying to improve all aspects of the club and it sounds as though DB is capable of adding experience to the admin side .

"Baldwin has been on the club's radar for years"

Very much so, it was between him and Hoos for the CEO role three years ago. I think we'll see Hoos utlised more in player recruitment, contracts etc. from now with Baldwin taking over the ticketing/retail/commercial/sponsorship side of things.

Wonderful. I look forward to us signing more lower league reserves.

I met David Baldwin yesterday by chance; he walked through the club shop when I was buying some programmes for the under-21 game.

It was only a brief chat we had but I found him very approachable and easy to talk to.

I asked him about his relationship with the fans at Bradford City, which we've all seen was brilliant. He said if he could get one early message over to the Burnley fans it would be that the relationship he had there was not built in five minutes, it took time and he said the one thing he would ask for from Burnley fans right now is patience to allow him to have an impact here and for such a relationship with supporters to grow at Burnley.
