It's 31 years since Burnley last picked up a point on 8th November and it was one of the best games seen on Turf Moor in many a year. We might have been a third division club, and under the management of John Bond, but the 2-1 win against Sheffield United was hailed as a top game in the national press.

It had been called off earlier in the season due to illness in the Burnley came but this was a tough game with a win for Sheffield United giving them the leadership of the division whilst for Burnley it was an opportunity to climb as high as eighth in the table.

Martin Dobson gave us an early lead and when Willie Donachie made it 2-0 just before the hour it made a home win look very likely. But the impressive Blades pulled one back almost immediately and the only surprise was that there were no more goals. This had surely been our best performance of the season.

I recall Lincoln bringing on a playerd Willie Gamble during that 4-1 defeat, and there being a large 'wooooo' from the Burnley fans. Stuck in my kind anyway. :D
