I did just feature ex-players, otherwise we'd have had Russ Wilcox in as well.

Nice to read of ex-Clarets in t'cup.

Wayne Thomas was not one of our best but Southampton's "get out of jail card" offer for him was nice and unexpected at the time. Glad he's had a decent career at the lower level

I would say his career plummeted downwards after he left Southampton where he had to have surgery for a cruciate. Doncaster, a couple of Greek clubs, Tamworth and Worcester don't sound brilliant for a million plus central defender.

I thought he was going to be great for us when he signed. Was he from Stoke?
