GIAMPAOLO PAZZINI is being courted by the Premier League side Burnley and they made a bid yesterday, it’s reported in the Italian press.

“Pazzini? I don’t know about him. You’d be better asking Inzaghi. He has never asked to be sold, and nobody has ever wanted to sell him,” Vice President Adriano Galliani said yesterday.

Pazzini is unhappy with the number of minutes he’s getting this season (his wife talked about it openly), with Fernando Torres and Jeremy Menez picked over him, but the Milan Channel denied that he will be sold in the January window.

However, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, on Friday an offer arrived from England for Pazzini. Burnley have reportedly tabled an official offer for the striker (via Gianluca Fiorni) and now Pazzini can decide whether he wants to stay in Italy or move to England. He’s also been linked with Genoa.

Interesting, but how can we make an offer when the transfer window is closed for another month. He is under contract so not a free agent and even if he was didn't we already register the max number of players?

If we make an offer for a player then it will be for the next window. Once into January thed squad comes to an end and we have to submit another one once that window is closed.

As it happened, we did have one spare place, think wed 24.

25 caps for Italy, an entire career on no doubt 50k a week as a minimum living in cities as beautiful as Milan and Florence...coming to Burnley?

This smells very strongly of bull**** to me! If it was QPR I would believe it, they love their 30+ year old foreigners wanting a big payslip, I doubt we do.

I read in the summer that we were after a young striker from Yorkshire. Not heard a dickie bird since though.

Guidetti on 40k a week at Man City Celtic trying to sign him on less in Jan.

Wages being part funded by Pizza Express?

Just think of it...there could even be Pazzini stickers!

If this bid is true and comes off, I just hope he makes a positive contribution to Burnley. He would certainly put himself on the world stage even with our limited tv coverage. Would he fit into our squad too? Only Dyche and his team would know this.

With Guidetti, might be worth a risk, but can he step up from SPL and hit the ground running?

Dilemmas?

Pazzini, when fit, is a decent striker. Contract expires next June.

If he can't get a game ahead of Fernando Torres, then I think we should give this one a miss. ;D

The difference between us and others clubs' fans is that we can pronounce thes of most of our players. Let's keep it this way.

Guidetti scores again. Another penalty.

Talking of European players dint realise Lukas was British and Ashley Barnes an Austrian international!

Forget strikers. We need Ivan Hardon to stiffen up the defence.

"Foreign players can do one as far as I'm concerned."

What a backwards statement. Our failure to utilise the foreign market in the summer was naive considering the over inflated prices that we were being 'priced out' of for British players. Probably the reason we've brought in that international scout recently.
