How many years left on his contract?
No matter what happens this season i suspect some bigger clubs may show an interest.
I'd call him an unsung hero but it's not technically true.

Pass out to Wallace on the right late on was out of this world.

That pass - a short groan thinking he'd mis hit it.

By far the most important player in our squad and my man of the season last year.
Mr consistency, a leader by example, organiser of the defence, doesn't pick up suspensions and the one player that we can't easily replace.
Stay fit Jason

The archetypal Captain Fantastic.

I want to have his babies.

I was a fan of Shackell's from way back when he was a Norwich player. I was delighted when we eventually signed him.

Eddie Howe brought some bloody important players to the club, especially in the forward positions, but without Shackell's leadership, I very much doubt that the 'group' would be as united as they have been over the last 2 seasons.

Howe's greatest signing and I would love him to extend his stay at Burnley.

Thought he'd fluffed that pass at first, as I was expecting a big lump upfield. Let's hope there's more of those good passes Tuesday

Aside from his general outstandingnish he seems to have a fetish for scoring away at Ewood.

Looks every bit the real deal at this level.

Always a captains performance and has handled the step up well. I hate to say it but he could fit into the CB role for quite a lot of PL teams.

Anyone know when his contact is up then?

That's right. He was signed on a 4 year contract, so there's plenty left. I agree that Howe signed some fantastic players. Shackell and Austin being the best two.

Very impressed with Shacks. Really does look a PL player.

Quicknick what about Tripps, Ings, Vokes as excellent signings as well as Mee?
He could certainly spot a good 'un. A few poor ones too as would be the case with most managers.Porter, Hines, Treacy.

A leader of men!

mdd2, yes Trippier and Ings. And the others, but if I had to select his best four, it would be the two I mentioned earlier plus these two. Some other great signings too. And a few poor ones, but everyone makes poor signings now and then.

I think SD acknowledged the quality in the squad when he started.

I love this man! The best defender I've ever seen in a Claret and Blue shirt.

He took a little while to settle but he's been excellent the last few games.
