0-0 at half time but the main talking point is the early pen City should have had. Aguero brought down and incredibly yellow carded for diving by Mike Jones.

Very poor decision, but unfortunately the authorities have not been able to get a grip of diving and eradicating it. The result has been a number of innocent players being booked wrongly for diving, whilst divers escape without punishment on a regular basis.

Terrible decision, it's no wonder Southampton don't concede many goals if they can get away with blatant penalties like that was. ;)

What the heck was he doing bringing the play back for an offside when Mangala had broken through a couple of foul (?) tackles and was about 5 yards outside the Southampton penalty area with plenty of support?

The one thing that is certain with Jones, if he gets it wrong he always gets it wrong in favour of the home side. This is the referee who actually won us a Premier League game in 2009 with all those shocking decisions going our way against Hull.

There has to be at least a facility where the Aguero yellow card is rescinded but the offside decision was absolutely ludicrous.

All cards should be reviewable but even more so when it leads to a cumulative red. You are not challenging the yellow, you are challenging an element of the red that was wrong.
Darren Fletcher has missed two Champions League finals because of this ridiculous rule.
