Just seen an interview with Pardew. He described it as a very difficult surface and very slippy.

looked it as well with spray coming off the ball.

i assumed marney had taken his studs out when he slipped over twice in a minute at the start of the second half.

Have you ever tried to run around on damp grass in orange slippers?

It was about four below freezing, what more does he expect?

What next? Wrong colour shirts!! When teams don't beat us they think they have to make excuses. We'll I hope 'arry has started thinking of his. ;)

Pardew is right - the pitch was too wet.

We think because we have sprinklers we have to use them.

Didn't do us any favours either.

For 50 grand a week they should be able to kick a ball over hot coals

Nothing better after a match on the Turf than to hear about away managers bleating and bitching. Tis music to my ears.

I posted this thread because I'd not noticed anything worthy of Pardew's comment but maybe it was starting to freeze as the temperatures dropped.

I suppose I'd rather him criticise our pitch than head butt our players.

In his pre-match interview Pardew said that he was well aware of Turf Moor and the fact that the pitch had a big slope (maybe he was getting us mixed up with Barnet?) and there was nearly always driving rain.

Needless to say, I don't think there was any evidence of a slope nor driving rain last night, and as for the the state of the pitch it is rather like a big green carpet these days.

"I don't think there was any evidence of a slope"

There is certainly a slope on it

I've watched Colne at Holt House. I know what a big slope looks like, and Turf Moor isn't it. :/

Maybe if modern football boots were based more on practicality of grip and comfort and less on having luminous colours then the players wouldn't be going arse over t!t every five minutes.

I mean does anybody under 13 think luminous pink, orange, green boots look good?
