View Full Version : Houston - we have a problem

Apparently Coyle is on his way over there as Chief coach.

Good luck to them.

Perhaps the senior people at Houston believe they already have a fan club for him in the city, considering this appeared at a Wrestlemania even in Houston in 2009. XD

He's been spouting rubbish again this week:

"Ive turned four or five things down in the past four or five months already. Thats not a snobbery thing I just have to get the right feeling from the right person." - I can't think of many decent level jobs he could have got in the last five months?

"Wherever Ive been, weve done very well. We never left Wigan because of football reasons." - so being in the bottom half of the table had nothing to do with it?

And this is the best bit:

"Everywhere weve been, weve done well. We went to Bolton when they were second bottom and kept them in the Premier League with nine points to spare, had them there for three years" - let's ignore you getting them relegated after 12 years in the Premier League, eh?

Oh, now he mentions it:

"The year we lost out it was on the last day of the season, with lots of injuries and with what happened with Fabrice Muamba." - of course, it wasn't his fault. It was Fabrice Muamba's for almost dying.

"So where

Oh, and he also states that if you're going to manage abroad, you should know the language.

His multilingual skills have now seen him rock up in England and America :D

05-12-2014, 10:23 AM
Does the "we" mean he's still talking about himself in the third person? XD

05-12-2014, 12:18 PM
Apologies, I didn't see this. Please close the other thread.

05-12-2014, 12:32 PM
Good luck to him. The further he is from Burnley the better.

When he says "we" does he mean him and that fat kitman?

05-12-2014, 01:39 PM
The population of Burnley would fit inside the Houston Astrodome

05-12-2014, 01:41 PM
Will he be playing for their reserves?

05-12-2014, 01:48 PM
if you're going to manage abroad, you should know the language.

TBF he is trilingual, he can speak English, mumbling Scottish and horse****.

05-12-2014, 01:58 PM
I think the third is his native and strongest language

05-12-2014, 02:13 PM
He also knows how to speak with forked tongue.

05-12-2014, 02:17 PM
Texas is the only state here that can accommodate his head size.

05-12-2014, 02:23 PM
I want to personally thank Owen because if he hadn't done what he did, history might have changed and we might not have employed possibly one of our finest ever managers

...hang on a minute wait for Coyles next interview, "I take all the credit for Burnely getting Sean"

Good ridance

Doubt a ten gallon hat will fit Coyle, have just located a twenty seven gallon hat, Will it fit him?

06-12-2014, 06:01 AM
He'll probably tell the locals that he's delighted to be a confederate.

And then with the job half done he'll naff off and join the Yankies.

06-12-2014, 07:53 AM
Does Susan Coyle not now mention taking Burnley into the Premiership as one of his successes. It was a fantastic success.

Maybe he just wants to avoid the awkward questions how bad he was when he got to the EPL.

Total Jodrell Banker...

06-12-2014, 08:20 AM
Suppose if he's going over there, at least he won't be cluttering up the sports channels over here, with his cliche ridden 'Giz a job l'm brilliant' claptrap for a while.

06-12-2014, 09:44 AM
Seems they do losing their last three at matches, their fan of the year was Leo Ponce and finished 8th
They will require some quality signings but here comes super (sized) Owen on his white horse Bolt On , the oil state is well suited to the greasy style,
Chris Eagles may even be packing his bags.
Hope the Texas Rangers don't mind a Celtic man.

06-12-2014, 09:57 AM
At least he'll be able to wear his shorts all the time without looking like a prat!

08-12-2014, 10:14 AM
Three year contract to be announced Tuesday according to Sky - they are 20 years ahead of us apparently.

The Bedlington Terrier

The twelve goal legend arrives in Houston. Whatever next..?

08-12-2014, 10:29 AM
Can they not make his contract longer? Have they not heard he's a legend in his own dugout.

At least 3 years of Coyle free tv, please take Roy Keane with you Owen.

08-12-2014, 10:36 AM
I'm flying into Houston later this evening :s

If I'm in the same hotel maybe I might bump into him and if so can get the story directly from the horse's mouth!

08-12-2014, 10:50 AM
"Doubt a ten gallon hat will fit Coyle, have just located a twenty seven gallon hat, Will it fit him?"

perhaps a 12 goallon hat would fit for such a legend

08-12-2014, 02:23 PM
If I had a dog I'd call it Houston.

08-12-2014, 06:43 PM
... Apparently the last words of Albert Einstein...relatively funny?

08-12-2014, 07:01 PM
"You can fit the entire population of Houston into my hat."
