Look at the other teams in the "relegation scrap"

Leicester 1 win and 1 draw in their last 10
A arrogant manager who appears to have lost the plot.
Does he ever smile, apart from at his own weak jokes?
Only Palace to play in next 5 from bottom teams

Hull 1 win and 2 draws in their last 10
A manager whose "book of excuses" is wearing very thin indeed.
Never smiles.
Only WBA from bottom teams to play in next 5

Palace 1 win and 4 draws in their last 10
No manager but looking for the cheap option.
May take time to recover from the "Warnock" effect.
Play 2 of the bottom teams in next 5 but both are away.

West Brom 2 wins and 1 draw in their last 10
Manager believes he is already sacked.
Unable to smile.
Play 2 of the bottom teams in the next 5 - only one of these at home.

QPR 2 wins and 1 draw from last 10
Harry did smile once. It was wind !
How much wheeler-dealing to be done next month?
Only us to play from the bottom teams to play in the next 5

BURNLEY Won 3 and drawn 3 in the last

Hull & Leicester have a tough run coming up... look at Leicester's!!

liverpool AVL STK united CRY arsenal evertonCHE city

Apart from Villa and Palace at home where they could pick up 4 points, I don't see much from their others - especially from arsenal, everton, CHELSEA, city... ouch!

However, I think QPR will pull away as they'll add 2-3 players at 5 million a pop.

I might be being naive but I can't see QPR spending much at all in Jan.

It doesn't matter who you have in the next 5 games ... or the next 10. It is the next 19 league games that need performances like yesterday's. We cannot afford to start believing that if we win the next couple, or take so many points from the next 5, then we can be safe - at least not until that is what the mathematics say before the fat lady sings.

As it stands today every team has still to play every other team in the division barring Liverpool and Swansea who have to play each other twice still.

I share some of your optimism PNW as I'm sure many Claret fans do especially after the last few games/performances but as Dyche said in his interview we still need points/wins. Wins are absolutely critical.
Had we, for instance, beaten Liverpool then for sure optimism would be high.

However it would be naive to think most teams around us will continue with the same form over the next 10 games as they have shown over the last 10.
One or two of them will improve which will require us to also improve on what we have achieved. All of them will fighting for their survival and I don't believe any of them are poor teams. They all have players capable of getting them wins/points and, in some case, as many of them, if not more than we have.

The spirit in the team is very high and we seen capable of maintaining that whoever starts. However, our squad is still relatively thin and one or two injuries to key players could make it too much of a challenge.

Clearly much may depend on any incoming

The media like us, SD is just about every football fan's favourite football manager and Ings and Barnes are now doing an Ings and Vokes. Why not be optimistic?

I agree with Gosia's post, I'm upbeat but I'm keeping my feet on the ground. Things can change very quickly in football, for better or for worse.

"I believe it will be very tight, very tight indeed"

Agreed and, whilst I have been labelled as a "happy clapper" on previous threads, I am a realist.

For the time being I am simply happy to clap the efforts of Sean's boys.

As for the others... will Pardew make any significant difference at Palace? For one, I doubt it !

Za rate of his wages will be huge, no doubt.
