View Full Version : Tony stewart now needs to stand up and be a chairman

And give steve evans some proper money to spend.
Im not for one minute having a go at steve evans or tony stewart because what they have done between them in the past 2 seasons is a miracle with 2 promotions in a row and a brand new stadium.

But you can only go so far with the loan market and the higher up the leagues you go the harder it is to find players that can actually play to the standard that is required for which clubs are willing to let go and to be anble to afford the wages for the players because now we are looking at premiershipor fellow championship wages which are not cheap at all.

People on here say hes spent a lot off money on bowery and johnson and for little old working class Rotherham it is but for the championship it is peanuts.

You can say Bournemouth etc haven't spent a lot off money but they are the odd exception and you can make a case that more teams have spent millions in this league that haven't

1: We haven't got huge amounts of money, see new sponsor deal, see not being able to afford to finish the training ground.

2: Evans has wasted a load.

Evans has wasted a lot of Money, true. Jusut look at Derbyshire. Should have brough Yates on instead of Derbyshire, cant have done any worse and gives the lad a chance,

Bournmouth are not an exception, they have spend big. Their budget for this season is suppose to be other 20million.
They spend around 3million on Callum Wilson. Their one striker cost more than our whole squad.

Finally, I think its poor calling on Tony Stewart to stump up millions more. Im not saying we dont need to but we cant just expect it to happen and say it as day to day talk on an online forum.

We could have been the exception, some real poor sides and we could have been far higher in the table with a little quality.

Well said. We were 5-1 down. It's as good a chance as he will get in the championship to come on and make a for himself. He could have come on after Derbyshire. Why not?

Does anyone trust the manager to bring in the right players after all the rubbish he signed pre season?

03-01-2015, 05:28 PM
I agree he needs to stand up and be a chairman but spending more isn't what he needs to do.

He needs to understand that Evans is struggling at this level and needs replacing with a manager that has more experience of the higher leagues and higher league players.

Let's be honest, Evans did panic buy and wasted money, maybe Mr Stewart should have put his foot down

I genuinely do think the manager has come a step too far granted how well he's done.

People keep saying it's only the fa cup but a 5-1 loss at home is shocking at any level of professional football.

Certainly it is a key point in the Manager/Chairman, Manager/Fans relationship.

I thought buying just a handful of players on the back of last years team was the way we should have dealt in pre season.

Certainly our best forward player was sold in Agard, and we failed to land May, saying Becchio has no future with us is the worst news in a while, so now it's crunch time in January.

Many Many signings that don't end up playing, plus too many loan players, who then leave and upset the team momentum...

I hope he proves us wrong and demonstrates we can keep the faith...

In the end, we just need to stay up, by one point will do, so whatever happens let's hope for that.

SE Stays.

We need a quality centre back and a quality striker. Both with proven records and both with pace and authority.

We then shift Arnie in front of back four and we replace Green who has had his day.

We bring back Ledesma and Becchio feeds him and our new striker.

Cost for this staying in Championship package - 5 million.

If we can do it, we stay up. If we can't its League 1.

This is a defining moment in our current history. We need Becchio back or his equivalent and the rest outlined above wil create the building blocks for Championship survival and progression.

Oh and by the way, the stadium needs upgrading to 16,000 for which the additional funding will be covered by additional revenue. This is part of the package.

Can we afford it? Only TS knows that but without it, we are League 1

And I'll still support home and away. UTM

P.S. Kempo and others won't like this but heho
