This isnt a doom and gloom post before I start.
First half apart from the last 5 minuted we were great. Keeping possesion and working as a team, moving off the ball and deserved to be winning. The last 5 minutes of the half and we just didnt clear the ball and in the end Brindley was unlucky to create a dead ball in the box for their striker to stroke in.
So we enter half time 1-1 as the better team. Maybe half time is what we needed just to regroup and sort out the problem.

We came out for the second half and the wheels then really came off.
Possession was given up so easily, past to a red shirt and pump it ul field for them to come right back at us. We have played a full half of football on the floor so it was time to bring out hoofball.
Our lack of pace at the back was really exploited as time and time again the ball was put over our two CB's (who had been drawn in up field) for a forward to then run on to whilst and red shirt ran after them.
We stopped working for each other and t

Do you think Derbyshire even wants to be here?

Perhaps Bournemouth just started to play better in the second half? What do you think Evans could possibly have said to influence that? "Put your feet up lads, this one's in the bag!"

Well the old elephant in the room stampeded today.

We need decent defenders not midfielders or more also rans like Bowery and JCH.

Been the case for months now but Evans seems not to know how to fix it.

We were lucky not to lose by more.

What happened is the fans were not bothered about the cup but still can't help but moan :/

Tbh I had a feeling that Evans wasn't bothered either but to lose like that is embarrassing.

Every game no matter what it is is important, manager gets paid to put the best on the pitch and get the formation right, players get paid to go out and do the best they can and win games.

It's not happening and seriously it needs sorting :/

Still I beleive we won't go down

What's happened to the fearless manager we had especially last season?

The one we are seeing this year seems frightened to death of every side that comes in front of us and that transfers onto the pitch.

Ditto... Instead of going with his gut and 'riding the rollercoaster' he's not even getting on it any more.

If he keeps us in the Championship he'll have done as good as any promotion but with a better squad to start with next season.

We all expected an hammering before now!

Great post frogmiller. I suspect it will be Green and hope he can get a fee for both Bowery and JCH both were below poor today on effort.
id also consider a fee for pringle. Brindley had a poor 2nd half and gave the ball away several times in dangerous areas.

They had our pants off and gave us a right bare-a*sed spanking. On today's evidence we have very few players of Championship quality. The difference in class was frightening and embarrassing.

What happened ? they just seemed to go up a gear 10 minutes before half time

After that they totally outclassed us Bournemouth IMO are a very good team they have pace and class all over the pitch

We will not be the last team they outclass this season Steve Evans is still learning at this level he has certainly had a lesson today

What happened is quite simple.

We were comprehensively outclassed by a stunning second half performance from Bournemouth who were absolute class. The way they killed us off was awesome. Best away performance at NYS so far by a country mile.

Ditto.

Don't think some of you on here are giving enough credit to the opposing team.
We were poor second half but they were the best team to visit NYS this season.

You've hit the nail on the head there. Couldn't have put it better myself.

What concern me long term, is that we have no rotherham united anymore...we have a usual 4,5,or 6 players, and anybody can make the numbers up...and when the numbers go,..another lot come..im not pulling steve evans down on this, he has to work within his budget, we all know that...but how are we ever going to sort it out? My mind goes back to jimmy mcguigans team ...stancliffe,green,breckin,crawford,leng,finney,p hillips...and more..they were all brought up from the ranks..ok, 3rd division, but they were all our lads and some of them the nucleus of the great 80-81 side...i think evans has used 50 players or more now..zippy im sure will elaborate..
