View Full Version : Time for Steve to prove he can manage at this level

Today was an embarrassing we were totally outplayed by Bournmouths reserves . They played a slick high tempo passing game all their players looked comfortable on the ball and made us look pedestrian especially in the2nd half .
Steve keeps saying that we are playing well and keep possession but it's no good if you don't penetrate the opposition . We just go sideways or backwards by the time we cross the half way line the opposition have regrouped because our approach is so laboured . ( that's how the blades played under David Weir and look what happened to him )
If we are going to persist with this style we need to bring in players who are much quicker than the crop that we've got .
The players I would move out are as follows
Pringle not made the step up to slow 1 footed and a weak tackler
Green to slow , passes sideways n backwards to much
Morgan to slow for this division
Derbyshire no confidence whatsoever
Taylor send him back to Ipswich promises so much delivers nothing .

Have to agree...

get the right 5 in rb, 2 wide men, a n10 like lawrence, striker. Im assuming we are keeping james given he played today...

and you can let those you list go...tho green and morgs can stay imo.

pringles a difficult one...might just need a rest. He lacks pace, cant defend. But f teams give him half a yard he can punish them and can be our best player. He does possess qualit but if teams stay tight to him and close him down quick he quickly turns to a liability...

Wish we could sign Bournmouths no 20 Fraser thought he was terrific today and not a regular player for them . Get him in n get rid of Pringle

If you read this message board regularly just about all of the players we have at tbe club have been listed as "not good enough at this level" at one time or another

But rarely have Evans and Raynor been put forward under the same reason.

Just about all of these duff players we have are their signings, plus the dynamic duos football in this division has been overall mediocre.

Time for a change.

I agree Jolly the term used in cricket is a flat track bully . Evans has had the luxury of having more money than other managers in lower leagues and has bought a better class of player to get promoted . Now we are in with the bigger boys he has got to prove that he and Rayner can cope at this level .
So mows the time to step up to the plate

But our "flat track bully" Marlon knows how to spin.

That's whats keeping him in a job

He does well in the January window.
Check the last two promotions.

And Jolly , what was that about Witch hunts?

Let's see.
