Can anyone tell me if ganister was ever mined in Rotherham and at which pit?

I don't know about historical workings but there's a pdf (map) of mineral resources of S Yorkshire you can download from the BGS (see link, if it works).

Ganister's listed in the key on the left-hand side.

Any good? - view external link (www.bgs.ac.uk/downloads/start.cfm?id=2631)

Thanks for that Topham but I have already looked at that download.

I know there is ganister (sometimes spelt "gannister') beneath us but I am trying to find out if it was ever mined in Rotherham. I know it was used to line furnaces, so I assume it was, but I need to know at which Rotherham mine.

I appreciate you looking though. Thanks.
