I knew Pete and had many chats with him over the years - usually about the Millers or Bruce Springsteen... a true gentleman and legendary Miller. I am sure he will have had a poignant smile on his face about some of the championship whingers considering a lot of what he and many more have seen over the years. All the cliches come out now and have only just heard the news but to Pete .. it was always a pleasure mate ...always a Miller

Sad to hear this news on the coach this morning.
Pete always had time for a little pleasant chat, and i never saw him without a smile on his face.
Goodnight and God bless Pete. x

I was gutted to hear the news. I have known him since the 70's playing in the same teams, RUSC and Cross Keys. He was a good player with a footballing brain and a calming influence on me. He wasn't afraid to put a foot in too, as I experienced playing against him. My poor shins still have stud indentations!
RIP Backo utm

Saddened to hear this when MillersFanDave told me this earlier.

When me and MFD first started going to matches, my mum would only let me go if she knew that Pete, CJ (Chris Lupton) and Little Bill would be there to "keep an eye on us".

Sad times.

Sleep well fella
