Anything is better than nothing when his contract was up at the end of the season.

If we end up with 150K after the players and agents cut then its still reasonable business. I'm a big fan of Revs but with 4 goals by January after playing every week and if he was going in the summer plus it forces SE to use other players. Also TS has a lot more money than me but he hasn't bottomless pits and the financial fair rules need to be adhered to.

Why are the Addy saying 400k then? They're surely getting their information from 'good authority'

Like I said in another post, undisclosed fees for players, so when we get a pittance for a player, the club don't look like they have under valued a player sold.

I can see why clubs say undisclosed fees and don't widely publicise players wages. If clubs knew another club had received 500K then the price of the replacement they are trying to sign would start at 500K.

As a fan I trust TS but it would be nice to see basic accounts that said gate receipts and transfer income equals wages, transfer outgoings and reasonable running costs. We'd then know the club is safe and SE has used every penny we have to get the best and take the club forward.

Agree about the basic accounts idea unfortunately we haven't a cat in hells chance of seeing any and why would the club feel obliged to show anyone.
As long as the accounts balance up at the end of the season regardless of which Division we are in I will be fine, like you infer it`s all down to trust.

Slade did not want the fee (400k) disclosing because of revs age, previous dealings and buying him from a 'poor team'.

The 400k approx plus is correct. Obviously the club has to be coy but the politics of the matter meant RUFC wanted to put something out there as it was cardiff who didn't want to lose face.

A nice helpful post designed to undermine the club when you do not know what you are talking about. That may well be the actual fee paid by Cardiff but Cardiff will have taken over other contractual obligations e.g loyalty bonuses and lump sum pension contributions that are due at the end of the contract, so the overall benefit to rufc in not having to pay these will save the club a much larger sum, hence where the 400k figure will have come from. All in all a good deal for all parties . AR gets the financial security he craved for his family and we save circa 400k to use elsewhere.
