Forgive me if i'm poking my nose where it doesn't belong but could you pull some strings of influence and push the tech monkeys to add HTML5 functionality in posts? This would help make the forums much more friendly to mobile phones if the threads were to contain these videos instead of gifs.

For example this HTML5 video is 662 kilobytes in size.

While the save video as a .GIF is 10.6 megabytes

Given the huge list of things this board hasn't got to grips with (they've not even heard of https yet) I suspect your post is a tad optimistic.

This board is laughably outdated, the business model appears to be take the money and run.

I think the business model right now is one which they know the end is nigh. It seems to be to use 2002 technology, get as much cash from it as possible through ads, without any investment, and then just see how long people put up with it for.

The board is slow...VERY SLOW.
The board is not mobile friendly at all.
The owners cannot control the ads properly, meanings it's a frustrating experience.
The link box is ridiculous where you have to delete things to make it work (I put up with it years ago without a fuss).
Adding images is a joke.
On mobile adding images it's even worse...and you then have to do some jiggery pokery to make it work.
The smileys are 15 years old - Happy Birthday!
No search function. I'll repeat that; NO SEARCH FUNCTION!

And guess what? Because of the amount of users on this board it's not an easy fix for us to move without technical know how and cash.

I believe our website is reliant on the Footmad owners to keep up. No doubt our Clarets folk would all love to get the upgrades mentioned. It can only be on their wish list.

What we have to remember is that when you study the ClaretsMad website it is a fantastic site full of all the information about Burnley FC imaginable.

For that we should all be thankful. Where would we be without it?

Spot on IanMcL but it's that fact that makes it all the more maddening that the tools the editors who put their heart and soul into this fantastic site are given to work with are so poor.
When there were chronic problems with the messagboard a while ago it took about 2 months before you could even type in a sign correctly and at that time the search function disappeared and has never been put back on which in my opinion is really poor and I don't even think that FootyMad deserve to be associated with such a great site.

Other clubs have message boards not associated with Footymad do they not? How does that work? Is that the answer?

They probably discovered the search function was a security problem and rather than plug the hole they decided to just get rid of the function altogether.
