View Full Version : Advice please, transferring VHS-c tapes to DVD.

Hi, I've just found a load of VHS-c tapes of family holidays from 20 years ago and wondered if I can convert them to DVD so I can watch them on tv or pc.

I haven't got a vcr anymore nor have I got a camera although I'm prepared to buy them if it means seeing the old holiday videos.

Any help or advice please?

I spotted a sign outside Timpsons in Accrington offering that service. I'm not sure if it is at every branch though. I'd imagine you will need to find the VHS-c housing (the VHS tape looking thing that you put the cassette in though) assuming they won't have one

I've seen lots of different machines available to buy for DIY as well as programmes requiring the hardware.

Lots of options available - view external link (https://uk.search.yahoo.com/search?p=vhs+to+dvd&ei=UTF-8&fr=chr-greentree_ff&ilc=12&type=714647)

I've used the firm below for both our wedding video and old family Holiday stuff, as well as some small scale printing. They're on Padiham Road, & provide excellent service at a reasonable price... ask for Phillip or Kevin. - view external link (http://www.nu-age.co.uk/)
