Making a weekend of this one and I'll be there with my honorary Claret mate from Watford.

Today's result has certainly whet my appetite for it.

The Yates and Slug and Lettuce pubs on Above Bar St are popular with away fans and there are other pubs around there. It's only about a 15 minute walk from the ground.

After missing all bar August matches due to Head & Neck Cancer treatment and wasting two season tickets, I miss my first away match at Southampton since moving here in '94 due to me being volunteered for luggage transport duty for daughter's Uni Easter break. Bum!

This is my nearest game now Reading are not in the same league - so a shortish train journey from north Hants for me. This is my first sporting event since major heart surgery a few months back. Hopefully we'll be a couple of goals to the goods coming towards the end of the game, I can do without that high blood pressure/ rapid heart beat stuff that tight finishes bring!

Me and my eldest lad will be getting the choo choo from Fareham to Woolston tomorrow. We're both looking forward to the game!

Incidentally, the last time I saw The Clarets win a top flight game was April 1976. Burnley 1 (Ray Hankin) Birmingham 0. I think Trevor Francis was playing for the brummies.
