When we played Spurs at WHL in the league there was just one yellow card for Ben Davies for a foul on George Boyd in Minute 2. Ref Mike Jones waved play on (advantage) then went back and yellow carded him.

Crap pic, it's my tv on slow motion, but do you think this was worth a yellow card? - view external link (youtu.be/o16ga9-cs3Y)

I don't think he'd have had much argument if that'd been a red.

I was wondering what the Portuguese manager at Chelsea would have thought had Boyd been Matic.

10 match ban.
Boyd could have lost his leg and his remaining good eye.

I guess it shows how far we've come when the mighty Spurs have to resort to targetting one of our key men after only seconds into the game.
Let's hope Sunday's ref is fully aware and Ol' One Eye can add to his 210 mile tally so far this season...and another goal or two.

I Certainly don't think Boyd would have seen that one coming It's an awful challenge it definitely should have been red 'O' I

It's very clumsy and a touch wild but not particularly dangerous or reckless imo, doesn't look like there was a lot of force in it by the time he stands on Boyd.

Maybe it would have got more interest if Boyd had got up and chased him and then got his manager railroading Goals on Sunday.

I think it's a shocker of a challenge and a clear red card. That's not clumsy, that's going over the ball.

I think he's off balance and trying to kick the ball.
