Evening all,

I'm coming up to the game with a small group of Arsenal season ticket holders on Saturday. We are staying over night, and plan on an evening out on Saturday. However, I haven't been out in Burnley in a few years, and am struggling to remember what I did on the last occasion. Pubs/venues etc may well have changed in that time too (opened or closed or whatnot).

So any suggestions of where to head to for a drink and some other merriment on a Saturday evening would be of great help.

PS: I know the temptation will be to say 'go to Manchester, Leeds, *insert town, anywhere but Burnley', but do please try to resist!

Thanks in advance.

Can't recall what it's called now, but was "little white horse", is now a cocktail bar. Little pricey but your friends will think getting a bargain :D

If you fancy going back in time Smacks is still the same as it was 15-20yrs ago
The Mix isnt to bad - range of people and music

Just remembered horse is now Illuminati

Bridge, Boot, BrunLea, Beer Shack, Smacks, The Mix, Mojitoes, etc, etc. Its not like there isn't a few to visit.

I don't think its a bad night out for a smallish town.

And the rest I'd say - I didn't know Smacks was still open but if it is I reckon it must be 30-40 years now.

Got my wallet nicked in Smacks...must have been 35 years or so ago.

26, driving license (prov) and passport...a right pain.

Not going there again...long memory. >:(

oh wow cant believe smacks is still going. i've not been back to burnley town centre in years - in my time it was all about lava & ignite, and the coyote ugly-style western bar next to walkabout.

i remember calling time on my burnley nights out when everyone around looked like they were 14

fatboy47, you had 26 GBP on you 35 years ago! Were you about to purchase something illicit?

Just looks out for the Kronenburg women...every town has them;

They think they are 16 in every aspect, such as make-up, dress, behaviour, but in reality, they are 64!

I'd be suggesting every woman in Burnley stays away from Burnley if burnleytom is out.

Got disaster written all over it has this one. If his mates think drinks are bargains then he will too. Southern softie!
