Apparently Hartlepool fans have a fancy dress theme every year for the last away game.

Last year the theme was Thunderbirds and the year before they all went to the last away game as penguins.

This year the last away game is at Carlisle and the theme is Bob Marley but Kick it Out has advised Carlisle to refuse entry to anyone who "blacks up".

There'll be a compromise - don't worry be happy, everything is gonna be alright. - view external link (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32447466)

'Is blacking up in fancy dress racist?'

Only to an absolute moron who has the time to devise such a stupid thought process.

So as long as your chosen fancy dress character is the same skin colour as yourself fill your boots!

I mean come on everyone knows that law????

Blacking up generally occurs in a grey area where people do it without the slightest racist intention but it's still kinda not ok.

Kick it out exist in that kinda grey area of imagined issues where something might be wrong but they've jumped to a conclusion.

Don't black up and don't call people racist is the summit of my advice.

Anyone seen the film "The Book Thief"? In that, a young blond German boy is a great admirer of Jesse Owens and covers himself in boot polish to try and look like him. The reaction of the Nazi party is similar to the reaction of Kick It Out - they do not like it.

Nowhere to be seen when they blued up for Charlton away a few years ago, the hypocrisy is sickening. (smiley)
