A pint isn't cheap in Switzerland, but looking at the prices of flights, I don't see many takers.

Unless Joyce runs a bus...

If a bus load of Clarets turn up and with the price of a pint out there, that could be Trippiers transfer fee gone!

I'm not sure beer comes in pints in Geneva.

Half litre it is then!

Will John B want us to pay for the extra 68 millilitres? ;)

Oh no. I've got it the wrong way round. John B will owe US for 68 millilitres of beer.

I'll ask if I can convert mine into club shares. O:)

Think they have proper pints in Mr Pickwick's pub, near to Cornavin Station. Seem to recall the travelling fans drinking the pub dry during England's visit for the friendly v Argentina in 2005.

Genuine offer from John although I don't think there will be as many there as turned up at the pub in Cork

I'll be there for my pint and I'll be most grateful for it too. To actually be serious, it's a super gesture from John B.

What I Want to Know, is Have we even considered doing what a lot of clubs seem to be doing,...

Like signing replacements ...early...??

Nothing to do with the club, this is a genuine Burnley fan offering to buy other fans a drink. It didn't really need that pathetic response.

todclaret - we'd intended going and the flights looked OK price wise when we first started looking. But our problem is that one of our group has to be back for work on Monday which means a return flight on Sunday and they were just far too expensive.

Rowls - you down for the guest report?

Having being relegated and the crown jewels being sold off mean emotions are bound to run high. I can understand how the offer of free ale from a board member may seem insensitive at a time when some of us are still ringing the Samaritans.

John B' s heart is, however, in the right place and he does put his hand in his own pocket.

The alarming rate that we are losing players through injury and them leaving is another subject which hopefully John B and the board can resolve . I like his tradition of giving ale away but the tradition of losing our best players needs to be stopped.

For John B's sake it might be better if few turn up if he is going to get constant ear ache about players leaving and the lack of transfer activity. Some people need to get a reality check.

He's a good bloke offering to buy people a drink. I find it incredible that anyone can turn that into not signing players or players leaving.

I would guess that those that would turn up to this game would not be the same types that constantly slag off the club and it's directors, Manager, recruitment staff, tea lady etc anyway.

something is customary if it has happened once before in 2 years?

Lucky we found some very generous Austrians that gave us a few free oversized steins, otherwise we might have been extremely thirsty over there!

(no reflection on John B in this comment, im all for a free pint!)

Geneva is in the top ten most expensive cities in the world, so I can't see the beer being cheap.

Not true goobs. I for one feel the Board have made a pigs ear of things, but per CT, the guy is buying fellow fans a pint, and people should be big enough to separate the two. After all, as fans, we ultimately want the same thing... don't we?

I also wish this kind of fan interaction had been around when the club conducted its pre-season for the year we first got promoted to the PL in the US. Fans from all over the continent travelled to see the team, and simply be adjacent, and the club determined to keep it a big secret where the team was staying. Heaven forbid we might interact

So John B's attitude is to be welcomed. But it's too far for a pint
