Celtic are still favourites, ask the bookies. Their finances mean, if things are still like this at the transfer window, they will spend exactly what they have to in order to try to win the league.

Our squad is superb and our confidence is high, but let's wait and see what happens, if it's still like this with eight games to go, I'll start to believe....

Aberdeen gave a comprehensive display yesterday. They carried real goal threat through a few forwards and their defence coped with almost everything Hearts could manage at a packed Tynecastle. There won't be many, if indeed any, other teams give such a comprehensive lesson to Hearts there in the first half.
And the Dons also had the likes of Rooney and Hayes as well as some very experienced guys on their bench. They also have a manager who knows what he's doing. And probably the best signing of the summer in Shinnie "He's one of our own"

Things are on the up for Aberdeen and with every passing victory that title is getting ever closer.

Celtic put 6 goals past one of the best sides in the league, and it could have easily been into double figures. But let the sheep ticklers enjoy their moment, they are still celebrating a once in a lifetime victory over The Champions :D

Were aberdeen not top of the league for a wee while last season as well?

How did that work out again? :D

It's cool. Celtic fans can be split into two when it comes to Aberdeen this season. In camp 1 are the guys who hold the belief that they'll still romp the league. in the other camp are guys who say as much but know deep down that they're in for a fight and one they could lose at that.

A lot of them have been very vocal about how they'll take 9 points from us this season after last weekend. I personally can't wait until we stuff them at Celtic Park in 5 weeks.

It ended with Aberdeen securing a record points total and qualifying for Europe. Thanks for asking.

We papped out a Macedonian mob, thrashed a Croat side which the holders of the competition had failed to beat in Rijeka just last year and then were narrowly beaten by a Kazakh side challenging for the league championship which has been bankrolled to the tune of millions of pounds and which were only themselves eliminated on away goals by Bordeaux in the play off round. All in all we did OK.

Ajax won't thump anybody in that group, they are very average.

AguyIknow
21-09-2015, 02:40 PM
Very average? Arent they top of the Eredivisie? Mightn't be the best in the world, or even Europe, but one would've thought it better than the SPFL where Aberdeen are well ahead of Celtic

Aberdeen beat Groningen from Holland last season in the Europa League. Obviously there's 6 or 7 pretty decent sides but I don't think many, if any, are miles ahead of Celtic or Aberdeen.

ajax are a good side, they usually are, and for celtic to get a 2-2 draw was a surprise last week. with molde beating fenerbace and ajax playing molde away next game, anything less than a win for ajax will be a poor result and put pressure on them going into the double header with fenerbace. the dynamics of this group will pan out in time, but so far its a good start for celtic, home wins v fenerbace and molde should put us in a good position and thats what we have to aim for realistically.

ps. izaguirre was a tool for that first yellow he picked up, i always wonder why footballers tackle rashly in that area of the pitch. i really think a lot of todays players dont think.

I thought Ajax looked really impressive going forward, but definitely suspect at the back, can't see them doing much unless they sort out their defence.
