Not really a surprise but they've sold their best 2 players and were always going to struggle

no surprise,
around and around villa go. they have had some very good managers over the years. maybe the setup/directors should look at them self for where its going wrong

no surprise but still a shame. Young, English Coach type manager. He always came across as honest in interviews.
Good luck to him and his Gilet.

The thing about Sherwood was he was among the favourites for a lot of good jobs for around 12 months, often odds on but never got over the line. I assume clubs took at look at a him impressive coaching qualifications and reputation and wondered if he could translate that to management. When he finally got a job it was always going to be a club in trouble and he didn't have the experience required to steady the ship. Shame but it was the wrong job for him trying move up from coach to manager. A nice little League 1 job with no money to spend and a lot of time to coach would have been ideal.

With a of Sherwood, he would have been ideal for Nottingham Forest, Tim & his Merry men.

Sherwood is the most overhyped manager for quite some time. He has the image and talks the talk but really is abysmal.

Spookily, Littlest Hobo's comments are exactly my thoughts about Redfearn!

All that's wrong with football. Good player but why on earth did he warrant a shot at a top job like that? No experience. You only have to look at the successful managers in the Prem to see that experience is *****......Wenger, Mourinio, Pelligrini, Hughes (in context), Allardyce, Pullis....

Mmmm.......I wonder how Wenger, Mourinho and Pelligrini would do at Villa with the same budget Sherwood had? Also selling Benteke and Delph.

A bit like formula 1.....if you have the fastest car you're gonna win.

Sherwood couldn't pull many tree's up, after the board couldn't see the forest for the trees, by letting his best players go.

Charlton and York also sack their managers
