A Pakistani schoolboy has allegedly broken the world record runs in a recorded match. Well, I can tell him that in 1971 I hit 2000 retired hurt against my little sister on Herringthorpe Playing Fields. Regrettably the cameras were not there to record this feat or my sister being admitted to RDGH with heat stroke and RSI

He goes to the Gandhi school so I'm thinking India.

Why do we call them indian restaurants when they are almost always Pakistani/bangladeshi owned?.:?

His family had spot bets on him getting between 1008 and 1010 runs.

So he nearly blew it ;)

We don't, it's them what do......

Maybe they think it's a better marketing idea eh?

That's exactly why.

Must have been annoyed that the rest of their team mates couldn't stay in long enough for them to get even more runs on the board!!

Yep it was on Sky today.

Arya Gurukul batted first and were bowled out for 31.

KC Gandhi batted and scored 1465 for 3 declared. (Dhanawade 1009 not out)

Arya Gurukul battered heroically in the second innings in their quest to win the match but just fell short.....1382 short to be exact and being bowled out for 52.

God I'm the new Millertop!!

Think England should sign him up before he gets to play for India.

They must play long games in school cricket there. When I was at school, under 16 games were 20 overs, one innings. The scorecard shows they had 94 overs in the innings where he scored 1009. I'm betting nobody on here has ever played a game anywhere near that length even at club level so I'm slightly suspicious. One bowler tossed 6 overs for 142 runs, just under 4 runs every ball :-?

Must agree I am suspicious. From t.v. footage pitch looked size of a postage stamp, 100 overs in a school match! How long were they playing for?

It started as a game of "Hit or miss, run 6 " but got out of hand
