Just proves anything can happen.

I am currently buying heavily discounted airline tickets for all of the major European footballing cities.

Venues such as Milan, Madrid, Munich, Barcelona etc for when the Clarets arrive next Autumn for their Champions League games.

Like I said, anything can happen! :)

Will be interesting to see if the stock market crashes and Putin decides to overrun the Baltic states Ukraine and other former USSR states as Trump has indicated he is pulling back from world interference. Putin has built up his armoury of nuclear weapons trained in the Baltic states and EU capitals and has 12500 tanks that could take them over in days.
Many of his nuclear weapons are not deterrents but intended to be used.

Let's hope he fulfills all those election promises. The wall along the Mexican border (remember the Mexicans have to pay for it), her own private jail cell for Hillary and prosecuting all those lying bitches who accused him of sexually inappropriate behaviour. Come on Donald get cracking!

300 Million Americans and these 2 chumps are the best they could come up with ?

These past few months have not been a campaign, they have been a slanging match between 2 very different folk with not one of them in many American peoples minds worthy of running a shop let alone the USA.

Picking out his shallow and P!ss poor mandate between the attacks on Clinton (Warranted IMO) Trump is going to cut the Military, get them building cars again in Michigan, create more jobs, give the rich more tax breaks and make it more difficult to enter America if you are Muslim, and oh yes build that Wall on the Mexican border.

I said months ago along with others on here that Trump would win because of all the corrupt, aggressive wrongdoings Clinton has been doing for years, Trump's certainly not whiter than white as he himself is shameless and corrupt as they come with no regard (like Clinton) for the common man.

Its certainly going to be fun starting in January, with the Nixon, Kennedy and all the other fiasco's we have had with previous American Presidents I'm sure Donald Trump along the way will make them look like chicken feed.

It does not fill me with joy knowing that its not just Britain who are in a dark place with our own Political and economic problems, knowing that the wave of unrest across the pond will hit our shores sometime soon.

Trump has stopped America becoming Mexico. If you are American since the 1965 and the Kennedy Immigration Act, they have been changing the demographics of America to import democrat voters. The result is the backlash we see, coupled with the Globalist cabal who have stripped out manufacturing employment from the mid west. Its just like the UK; where the north has lost the good paying jobs. Eventually you dump on people for so long to line your own pockets like London has done then worm finally turns!!

I lived in California for three years in the mid 80's Deadly.

The Mexicans worked the fields, did all the menial jobs on very low pay and generally got on with their business.

No idea what it is like now but I am always uneasy when one tribe starts getting all angsty about another.

I have been in many bars in the Midwest of America. The Rednecks are the goddam most evil people on this earth IMHO.

Trump has managed to indoctrinate his doctrine of hate and pull off a Hitlerian propaganda masterpiece.

I am mighty glad I no longer reside Stateside.

There’s no question “The Donald” is a loose cannon, however this vote was certainly a rebellion against the establishment, which may not be a bad thing, it’s been a long time coming. Let’s face it, most would like our country, no matter what country, to be run more like a business. The US, Britain, Canada and many other western manufacturing based countries have seen its manufacturing base more or less disappear. Without a strong middle class, no so called democracy can survive over the long haul.

Maybe, just maybe, he can make a difference, if and only if he listens to his advisors, which in itself is a long shot.

We’ll see where this goes, fun times ahead.

Hitlers Guide to propoganda.

1. Keep the dogma simple. Make only 1 or 2 points.

2. Be forthright and powerfully direct. Speak only in the telling or ordering mode

3. As much as possible, reduce concepts down into stereotypes which are black and white.

4. Speak to people’s emotions and stir them constantly.

5. Use lots of repetition; repeat your points over and over again.

6. Forget literary beauty, scientific reasoning, balance, or novelty.

7. Focus solely on convincing people and creating zealots.

8. Find slogans which can be used to drive the movement forward.

http://brainblogger.com/2008/11/04/hitlers-guide-to-propaganda-the-psychology-of-coercion/

Controlled propoganda - Coercion - brainwash.....ring any bells...?

I think....

The Game.... during the primaries both parties - left and right - fixed it for "their" preferred candidates to run for President - both being taken from the barrels bottom - a sham - fully orchestrated from the outset...Constructed to reach a desired outcome. "Who in their right mind" - would choose one or the other ?

Trump is more of a Democrat - but ran as a Republican...so why not run as an independent - perhaps because the dialect needs the hostility of a - a left/right - good vs evil...positioned either side - with the true power above/between.

I noticed today that Clinton chose the colour Purple the wear....a message ?....did she mix the red and blue to reveal true colour of the Lie they call Democracy.

We might not get there at all Balanbam00! Putin's Russia is currently adding to its ICBM arsenal of Yars, Topol-M and the Bulava weapons of mass destruction. The whole new singing, dancing Sarmat is being designed specifically to overcome ballistic missile defenses, incorporating a combination of sheer speed, tricky decoys and a whole array of new defensive countermeasures. It is likely the Sarmat will also be equipped with maneuvering warheads, making it very difficult to intercept. Open your cheque books Theresa May and President Trump or we are all doomed!

So we remove the perceived NATO threat to the Russians sphere of influence in Eastern Europe, which would hopefully be reciprocated as Russia no longer feels the need for the current military build-up on it's borders. And in Syria there may now be some prospect that the West and Russia stop fighting each other by proxy and agree to a diplomatic solution, which would bring to an end the nightmare for the long suffering Syrian people.

Well, well, well, and I thought these guys were supposed to be starting WW3.

I simply cannot understand this decision. A prestigious but totally irrelevant friendly at Wembley provided Southgate with a "Get Out of Jail Free" card to blood a couple of rookies.

I think he could become credible colner and believe he could be good for America, for me 2 things stand in his way, Congress not allowing his policies like they did time and time again with Obama, and Trumps business empire where he has to be careful what he does with it, not view it and not show any bias towards them or face being impeached, I can never understand people who have plenty of money and want for nothing who seem hell bent on breaking every rule to get even more money, can Trump break the trend ?

In my humble opinion, Trump is a very serious threat to the very idea of democracy. Of course my views are based purely on things that I have read online.
He did not receive the vote of the majority of Americans.
As the person soon to be in charge of, arguably, the most powerful nation on earth, he demonstrates his dislike of all things that do not directly benefit America.
He has never held a official political position before, yet he is deemed suitable to preside a position where, dare I say it, he will have the power to influence worldwide political outcomes.
Again, in my opinion, he should return to his business "empire" ....where he seems to be more suitable.

1959_60
17-11-2016, 07:42 PM
A large number of Americans felt disenfranchised by(the perceived) way they had been treated in the past.

And the same thing happened here with Brexit.

The real danger is... how will these people (on both sides of the Atlantic) react once they realise that things are not going to get any better for them?

They will either...

A/. Revert to type and lose all interest in the democratic process once more.

B/. There will be civil unrest and they will try direct action.

The Bedlington Terrier
18-11-2016, 07:43 AM
The sad reality on both sides of the Atlantic is that 95% of the nation's wealth is in the hands of 5% of the population.

True enough Tec, but another sad reality is that if you shared the wealth of that 5% out amongst the rest of us, we wouldn't have enough to buy a bag of chips.

Actually I've no idea if the above is reality, I'm just guessing, maybe we would all be rich, but somehow I doubt it.

That's just down to the vagaries of the American system, about 60 million Americans voted for him so it's not possible to claim he doesn't have a mandate.

If you're looking for 'threats to democracy' have a look at our own system. The SNP have 56 MPs in the Commons representing 1.4 million voters, around 7.3 million people voted for either the Lib Dems, UKIP or the Greens, they have just 10 MPs between them, and the Scots have their own parliament as well.

As an Englishmen I have far more reason to fear for democracy than any American worried that Clinton got a few thousand more votes than Trump.

231,556,622 of Americans are eligible to vote.....but only 134,457,600 voted. That means that 42.1 percent didnít vote - while 58.1 did vote....split between the candidates.
Numbers were taken from online - am unsure if that's the final count.

and ff I remember it correct - Blair's last term as Premin - he took only 32% of the U.K vote.

Cheers.
