As Christmas is a time of giving, just wondered what your position was on donating to Africa or Dogs Homes. Or maybe you can't be arsed

As Christmas is a time of giving.........yeah any spare cash i have goes to my mistress!!

No seriously ,why do we have all these charities ?
Can the government not take care of these things? We are all taxed then they want us to help charities, while M P's get fat wage packets. If a government can not take care of all these then to me, it should be removed ,and if removing the governments can not solve the problems ,then the economic system in vogue is up the spout! Think about it!!

It's the 600k plus Chief Executive salaries that prevent me from contributing towards these charities and NGO's.

A small gift will probably be coming your way for the double entendre thread title of the year award donzy. :D

That's a very good point Balanbam, one that always niggles me. Should we really need people out with begging bowls to fund research into fighting cancer, similar with Lifeboats and Air Ambulances. It's quite a bizarre situation for a wealthy, civilised country to be in, but us taxpayers seem to tolerate it.

The one that really gets to me sinkov is the Royal British Legion and Help our Heroes constant begging.

The military personnel who are in need of help should have it provided for them by the Government they serve.

I would love to know where all the money goes that is raised by the Royal British Legion and Help our Heroes charities?
