In the past we have had some good players, some average players and some really dire players. Some players that just get through a game and others that give everything. The team that plays today will give everything, we know this because they've been doing it all season. It may not go to plan but it won't be for the lack of effort. Hopefully that bit extra from one or two individuals will be enough to win the game. That my fellow supporters is in the lap of the gods!

We are that type of club really. Our supporters want players to give everything and we will forgive that their talent may not be there (but not for long).

Is giving everything the be all and end all at RUFC? Some would say YES because they've had to work hard to get to a position to pay for a ticket to watch the match. None us actually know if we give everything at work. We just work hard! Some harder than others but each of us have a place in society.

What would you give to have some of your heros from the past playing today? We use words so flippantly these days. People are heard saying I love them, he/she's a legend or he/she's great. Hero status for footballers is another thing that's heard and it's true! When you compare a footballer like Allen Lee against others that have played for us then you can give that guy hero status all day long. I do anyway! Gerry Forrest and Gow, Towner and Watson, Moore, Fearn and Goater with Raggy and Mendonca. There are many Heros that we remember from the past and we're always on the look out for another.

When you compare these football heros to the true heros of society then they are on a different level. The heros that made the ultimate sacrifice that has given us the freedom to actually live a life without fear and with choices.

This weekend gives us the chance to thank these real life heros. A minutes silence before the match to remember the fallen heros.

Wow, a fairly emotional opening frog, but so true.

Another tough game for us today, against a team who I expect to be around the play off places at the end of the season. Supporters of other teams write us off a little when we play them away, and why shouldn't they? We haven't won away in the championship for 30 something matches now I believe so just looking at cold hard stats would imply, even this season, that we are there for the taking. However, we know that other than the Brentford match ,first game of season, we have been in games away from home for a long time, so surely we are overdue that elusive first away win of the season, but that won't be an easy feat against another hard working team, with a top class striker.
I'd taker another draw now.

I think that what we've done Ronners is try to keep in games as long as possible. I can't see them changing that but they should . It was the same as the home matches with us pinching a 1-0 win against Ipswich and Derby that made it worth while. The big turning point at home for me was the defeat against Hull. We should have attacked more that game and we've gone on to do just that afterwards which has made us really competitive.

I understand that frog, and maybe even now, that first match battering at Brentford is still weighing heavily on PW shoulders.
I personally feel we have to keep the staying in the game tactic, especially away from home, but I would agree that surely, sometimes, we can see that the way the game is going that changing to a more attacking formation could get us all the points, and not keep sitting back.

Agreed. The day we dominate an away game from start to finish in the Championship will be a very special one indeed. I've been waiting years for it to happen a little longer won't hurt :)

Ajayi in centre mid. He’s on form and a handful if he plays well he could make this position his own given why now have decent centre backs

I'm reading that folk reckon that it's negative but this team can shape up in so many different ways. It's the best team we could play today

Kind of looks wrong shape for it to me, tall and thin is made for centre back or centre forward.

Can't really think of any lanky midfielders except Bentancur at Juventus and he's more attacking and a bit shorter.

Not really lanky though.

EDIT: You're right he was 6 foot 4, more muscular though.

Viera seemed more solid, Ajayi is more like Bambi and awkward, but you are right, still quite young.

Towell with a good effort, just over the bar.

Best half away from home by a distance.

Just need someone to take one of these half chances we are creating. One or two of our players are due a goal. Hopefully it will be a winner.

Good point and well earned.

Could have been all three had Smith not passed back to Taylor and buried it but eh ho we didn't lose! Go back two seasons and we wouldn't have got a point here.

What a point!

They've ripped us apart this second half!

Could have won it but unfortunately we've had another exceptional performance from the man in the middle
